Good Winter boots?

Bunny boots are amazing! Especially Bata’s if you can find them.

Best boots I ever owned were a pair of Carolina Logger boots. Completely waterproof and lined with Thinsulate to keep your feet warm.

I wore them for two years in the Alutian Islands of Alaska from 2005 - 2007. I still have them, and they are as good as ever! I did have to
have the soles reglued last year. I only use them when I'm back visiting my farm in Ohio. No use for them in Southern California...

A pair of five buckle overshoes, your old comfortable nikes, good wool socks and your feel will never get cold.

You could also consider a pair of boot liners. I have to wear leather safety boots at work, and in the rare cases I'm working in the cold, I have a pair of fleece boot liners.

Were those the galoshes that never fit over my shoes?

🥶 Still remember having to stand out in the snow at the bus stop wearing only those rubber things, because my shoes would not fit in them. Can remember the pain and the cold like it was yesterday.

I wore insulated Chippewa logger boots with heavy wool socks for years outside everyday at work in the winter, sometimes knee deep in snow. Never had a problem with cold. Just keep the leather oiled so it stays waterproof....For real wet cold weather, I had a pair of Viking Tusk insulated boots.

My daily winter boots are these Uggs, just had them resoled after 9 years. Wish they still made these, I'd get them in brown. I replace the insoles every year. For bitter cold when I'm out for a long time, like snowblowing, sledding, etc I have an old pair of Merrell 8" zip up thermo something or other. I don't wear them all that often until this last year. About 15 years old. Very warm.

My old generic work boots are not good when outside shoveling snow. Any recommendations for a good pair that will keep your feet warm, but not sweaty? Last time it snowed heavily, I had to retreat to the house every 30 minutes because my feet would freeze in the low temperatures. Figure now would be the time to get a good set.
If sweat/heat is the issue, avoid goretex and possibly consider a non waterproof boot, if you're not getting them wet every day. Non waterproof boots allow your feet to breathe a lot better.
