Posting by Burafan, Cherokeeson2001, and KhukuriNut is now in process of being banned by a Supermoderator for all 3 of his identities.

Signed on this morning and shortly thereafter rec'd copy of email sent to Yvsa. Same old self justification. Having had a night's sleep, decided to end it here and now.

Much like a juvenile in court who can't keep his mouth shut in front of the judge and throws all his lawyer's carefully plotted extenuatineg circumstances out the
window.

Sad to see that ever have to happen, considering what a civil group we have on BFC in general, and here in cantina in particular.

Rusty, you do good work. We don't acknowledge you often enough, but I'm sure everyone agrees. Thanks for all your efforts.

Appreciated. Wouldn't have been as nice a few years back. Examples by Uncle Bill, Yvsa, Munk, and others undoubtedly helped me and are responsible for my change in attitude/behaviour. Easier to live up to their standards when constant reminders are there in front of you.

PS: notice my great humility? to quote Ben Franklin, " Alas, should I ever achieve true humility, I would be proud of it."

Nope. I'd be banning folks like there was no tomorrow. I'd probably end up banning Uncle Bill. :D

Rusty showed a lot more patience than I had. Having the power to ban folks is something I should probably never wield.

My Uncle Ben told me, "With great power comes great responsibility." ;)

Thus ends the saga...

and spelling

My workin theory was that Reality was a crucible and we all get ground down. We get born too, don't you know? By allowing people to make jackasses of themselves we allow the Universe to do the job. Under our little Light here, how long is it before unkindness, meaness, lies, pride, etc are made clear? And with this we have the possibility of change. The Light that reveals cockroach behavior also shows grace.

Unfortunately, some people respond to the Light like a bug before a lamp. Getting burned is all they know so they repeat and drag us down with them.

Most of the time Light at HI is fun and brings occasional joy. I guess some crippled varmints who can't or won't change are attracted to this place. There comes a time when we must act.

It's OK with me there are selfish children around, but I don't let my own small sons ruin life for the rest of the family. They get sent to their rooms if they can't or won't behave.

Rusty doesn't have access to a room, (other than that DARK place he sent me to) Banning is the last resort.

Rusty is very kind to include me in a group of forumites he's learned a few steps from. I don't think a week goes by I don't pick up something from him. He's not only extremely smart, but he has a big heart.

Hayv!!!! It is true!!!! And I'm glad that I'm counted among Rusty's brothers as well. There's not much greater honor to me.:)

Poor thing reminded me of a trapped animal that just had to gnaw both his legs off when it was only the tip of his index finger that was caught.

Oh well,I suppose it's pretty easy for some to go mental/postal this time of year.

Gratitude is felt for the marvelous tool this internet is for educating and for demonstrating once again that without discipline and without accountability chaos can take over.

I hope he learned something useful from the experience.

Good job Rusty

:)

Rusty and Bill do such a fantastic job here it was sad to have to do this. They have developed a "family" with in a "family" here that did not deserve what had been going on. I honestly feel sorry for the man and hope things will work out for him in the long run. In the meantime Rusty made a very sound decision for his forum.

Hope that 2004 will be the best year yet of better ones to come for each of you.

Rusty has done and is doing a hell of a job and I think all of us are very appreciative. Me perhaps most of all.

Good job Rusty. The guy was given plenty of chances to get his mind right and you did what you had to do. Thanks for moderating this forum so well.
Every cantina needs a bouncer, I'm glad ours is a good guy.

Somehow I seem to always miss the "good stuff"...:(

What happened here? Nevermind. I don't want to know. As long as it's safe to play in Uncle Bill's & Rusty's backyards - I feel better.

I can't judge whether this ban is a good or a bad thing because the offensive posts were removed. That's why I think it's very poor policy to prevent forum members from seeing these posts. Ban someone for abusing the forum.....sure. Remove all of the offensive posts......no. Those of us who may have been busy over the holiday have no idea what this is all about and I think we are entitled to know. My 2 cents. YMMV

...still don't know what YMMV stands for...:(

Ichor:

I tried to copy the relevant threads to the moderator's only Back End forum. Instead I ended up moving them rather than copying them. ( I did leave one post up where he went after Yvsa.)

At the time I felt it was more important to get the offensive threads documented and locked down in the Back End so they could not be altered.

I should have spent more time learning how to work the moderator's panel. It's like fixin' a leak in the roof. Can't hardly do it when it's rainin' and don't need to do it when the rain stops.
