gorilla glue

Another glue I've been using with excellent results is Rhino glue made by Liquid Nails. Basically the same as Gorilla.

I have a solution to the measuring problem too!

Go to a hobby shop in your area and buy some little epoxy mixing cups. They look like what you would find on top of a pepto bismol bottle and has a bunch of measuring lines on it by the oz, dram, etc etc....buy the measuring pumps and instead of pushing all the way down for one complete pump, push lightly to dispense only what you need. I have been doing it that way for over a year now and it works awesome. Leave the unused epoxy sitting in the little plastic cup and wait for it to harden overnight and then you can crack it off and re-use the cup over and over again!

i got my little measuring cups at HOBBY PEOPLE. Maybe there is one local by you.

Tracy-

you are the reason I started trying it out! and it does work pretty well. I think the foaming is solved, but I need to practice my wipe down timing a bit, see when the crucial phases are.

I like West epoxies, but yeah- mixing for knife handles at my production level is just insanely annoying. and wasteful.

the way i found that works the best for the mix. im gessing around a 2 to 1 mix, 2 parts wood hardener to one part gorilla glue. put into a zip lock bag and seal it. then massage the liquid intell its all mixed. get your para cord and stick it in the bag and let it soak in. then get ahold of one end and pull it out but as you do use your fingers to remove most of the excess by pinching the cord between the sides of the bag. this forces all the excess out of the cord and back into the bag. then wrap handle

Folks might want to check the chemicals in both their gorilla glue and their wood hardener before mixing them up, at least indoors.

yes be safe. i will post a pic of the sample i did. whats weard is that even with the bag closed it will set up in around 1 1/2 days. but it looks like rubber and its strechey.

I'll pile on the saftey bandwagon too because it can't be over done. All of those adhesives are toxic at some level. They will all absorb through your skin. You won't collapse today but your liver will go to hell early and you won't be around to spend time with the grandchildren. Wear gloves all the time when handling the stuff. Don't let it dry on your skin, it is absorbing at the same time. When I was doing the glue war, I read enough MSDS sheets and such to worry the hell out of me. This stuff kills you slowly. Be carefull.
