I know I have seen a site selling these reproductions. Does anybody have a link to where you can buy them? Some poor guy is bidding $203 on this thing on a well known auction service. It's none of my business, but I hate seeing somebody getting burned.

I've tried to help folks out when they are getting burned. Weirdly enough, they seem to want to throw money away even after being informed. Bragging rights, social standing, or whatever...I dunno.

Too bad so many stoopid people on popular auction sites prefer to overlook an inexpensive AK that can cut up an automobile into bit-sized chunks ( with little real damage) and show their friends "a ginuwine reel life gorka knife that them tiny fellers use to even cut the heads offa water beefelos.":barf:

But we're not talking about folks who want the real thing. They want Rambo's knife. Gag.

I saw a gentleman at the latest gun show looking for a Beck knife
" Jes like the one that guy used to cut those doods up with on The Hunted." Complete with an in-depth mini-docu-drama on knife fighting he must have learned from too many lonely nights watching it on DVD.:barf: :barf:
450.00 I heard was his limit. He could get a big box of Uncle Bill's little darlings for that.

Pardon my overuse of the soapbox.

Talk about your get rich (or poor) quick schemes, oh boy!
No wonder some people get turned off on khuks!
Thanks for posting this Steve. Hope the seller gets what he deserves.

...with the coins on the side of the scabbard, and the little banner thing at the top with "NEPAL" engraved in it?

I almost bought one of those, back before I found HI.

I got 3 poopykooks via eBay...one I bought thinking it was the real deal, and 2 that came in a bundle of other Paki knives that I'm gonna use as parts of presentation plaques for some troops when they leave my unit. I paid like $45 for the "Genuine Gurka Kukri". Guess I got burned, a bit.

At least I have cheap knockoffs to experiment on.

I notified the seller in the most diplomatic way possible, but he persists in saying that it is original. Oh well.

Probably all of them, as you imply.
The "well known" Internet trading site referred to is sometimes great for sellers, and in most cases bad for buyers.:grumpy:
Too often I've watched a $25 dollar item sit there at $12 untill the last few minutes, when it shoots up to $75 when the bidding war starts in earnest.

"Gorkha Army"...

It is what brought me here, through Cliff Stamp's direction.

actually, ok for what it is. I wrapped the handle with fishing twine and soaked it many times in spar varnish.

Of course, there is no comparison between HI and #124...but...if one doesn't know any better...it's fine.

(but then, with shipping, it was $12.00.)
