1.) Gossman Big Boar Tusker w/custom Gossman leather sheath
Specs
Materials: O1 steel w/tan canvas micarta scales.
Grind: Full height convex
Blade Length: 8" (7.5" cutting edge)
Blade Width: 2"
Overall Length: 13"
Thickness: 0.25"
Weight: 564g (knife only) 720g (w/sheath)
This is a BBT from at least 5 years back, maybe more. It's worth noting that this spearpoint profile is much rarer to see on BBTs than a drop point. I am not the first owner and it has been used. You can see the patina in the pictures below, but it's a little harder to tell that it has some surface scratches, as well as a deeper scratch that runs about 2" near the spine. The spine is a bit ragged in a few spots (due to scraping a fero rod, I suspect, as well as some battening). There is also a bit of a scratch on one of the micarta slabs near the butt. Nonetheless, these are all cosmetic issues and the edge is in great shape, although I would say it could use a slight touch up. I don't know for sure, but it looks like the original edge. Being a huge slab of O1, it should be simple to resharpen or even reprofile by hand if you should so choose. This is a BIG blade, but handles exceptionally well. I've included pics of it in my hand so you can see how it looks in a (glove size L) hand in both neutral and forward positions. It is super comfortable for those with L-sized hands and above in either grip.
$450 TYD SOLD
2.) Gossman Tusker Companion with custom Gossman leather sheath
Specs
Materials: S7 steel w/tan canvas micarta scales.
Grind: Full height convex
Blade Length: 4.25" (4" cutting edge)
Blade Width: 1.25"
Overall Length: 8.75"
Thickness: 0.19"
Weight: 226g (knife only) 301g (w/sheath)
This is a a Tusker Companion from at least 5 years back, maybe more. I am not the first owner and it has been used. It has some surfaces scratches on the blade and the edge could use a slight touch up. This has a typical hunting knife profile, but it's overbuilt and with S7 steel, it can be used super hard without having to worry about failure. I've included a pic of it in my hand so you can see how it looks in a (glove size L) hand. I bought this one, sold it because I wasn't using it much, then bought it back because it really is an awesome all-around belt knife. It still isn't getting the love from me that it deserves (Gossman knives demand to be used!) so it's back up for sale.
