Maker's name across the top of the blade below the guard is Z Jetton.
This is a big Bowie masquerading as a cleaver, or a big cleaver masquerading as a Bowie.
Wire tang knife blade on a faux plastic deer antler grip.
Little blue engraving of a deer on the butt end of the handle.

Brass crossguard, straight fuller obviously cut with a ball mill, 12 1/8" blade 3" and a hair at the belly,
Deep clip point. Knife weighs 2#, 3.5 oz.

Carbon steel. Spark test looks to show some silicon in the metal.

Got it at a garage sale. It looks fit to skin dinosaurs, and feels good in the hand....

This is my first post on these boards, so if I didn't get it in the right forum, feel free to tell me....

A picture would help immeasurably, if you could do so. Sounds interesting, though.

Will post some pics next weekend. This knife feels 'good' in the hand, and I'm about ready to order some 440C from Jantz and
try my hand at getting a copy of it with a full tang handle instead of the wire tang that's in the current one.
