Got a blazer pocket torch with wilderness in mind. It is not wind resistant or water resistant but I think I can keep it dry. If I cant keep a lighter dry, then what kind of a survivalist am I :D
I got one of those new ones with the child safety feature.

The problem is that sometimes it would only light on the 4th click. Sometimes on the 3rd sometimes on the second but rarely at the first click.
Over all, I like its industrial look and huge fuel tank. It takes about 4 grams of fuel. 4times whatwindmill takes. It is also very light compared to zippo or windmill.

I got the one with the clear fuel tank.

These are not my pictures but will give you the idea. This has a black butt.

oooohhhhh. a lighter thats not consistent with the its spark is really something that i would not want to depend on in the wild. the ability to to be able to rely on the tools you have in the wild is not something to take chances on . I'll stick to my firesteel.

You make good points but I am a smoker you see :)

Cant get my bow drill and tinder every time I feed my 20 a day habit :D That is why I said (with wilderness in mind) This lighter will be my everyday carry and will take it with me to the wild.

Cheers

Well i know its a lecture but how about gettingn away from that habit. My bad just got out of the hospital 2 days ago.. He is paying for his habbit now.
I use a diffrent model of blazer torch and it works every time all the time. If you notice that it does light up even if not on the first time. I would say keep it. It would be great to have in a wet area. If you are in a dry area where you can find dry wood and grass it wont do any better then a regular lighter.. I have played with my and just ended up carrying a plain lighter just cause its simple.

Wow. I EDCed a PB-207 for over a year (just switched to a IM Corona Old Boy last week), and I've always considered it one of the most reliable and efficient lighters. Lights essentially everytime on the first try and on the few times it doesn't, it lights on the second try.

Try blowing some compressed air into where the torch comes out. If it gets dirty there it won't light as easily. Also, make sure you purge the lighter before filling it.

I fill and carry a small butane stick torch when I go out. It isn't much if the weather is total crap, but it gets hotter than anything else I have...

Basically right before your going to fill a lighter thats been spent, take something and depress the fill pipe to let any extra air inside out.

I have used one of these for years to light my cigars. They put out a helluva lot of heat and are much more windproof than a bic.
Mine fires (usually) on the first try, but it must be kept clean. I use a toothpick to loosen aything in there and then blow into it hard and that does the trick. The carbon will build up if not seen to.

They also do a great job on frozen locks.
