So i gave in and got a Hennessy Hammock expedition asm! I cant wait to set it up. (so far just a dry rum on the livingroom) So far its great, but how do i get it to fit in the bag better?

When i first got it there was a lot of room in the stuffsack but now its pretty tight. Is there a better way to fold and roll it up smaller? I also got the snakskins too and I think those will help a bit.

Thanks guys.

I've never tried to fit mine in without the snakeskins, but it fits fine with them. Give 'em a shot.

Congrats on the HH, you're going to love it.

I don't even use the bag -- the snakeskins are fine and with them you can put the HH in your pack in a U shape in the back, which leaves you a lot of extra space vs. the blob of space consumed if you put it in the bag.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the bag unless you want that extra degree of protection and organization. I don't have the SnakeSkins (need to get them), and I just stuff mine in my bag after a little rolling and folding. I have the Ultralight Backpacker model, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Congratulations on your purchase. I posted a thread about this very product not too long ago. I would really like to hear your thoughts and inputs on your 'first' trial at setting up and your impressions.

Thanks,

Snakeskins are awesome. You string the tarp in it's skins, so it's essentially not even there. Then if it starts raining, rip the skins and stake the tarp out. Awesome

And don't worry if it sucks. It literally took me an hour and a half the first time I strung my claytor. It's was 1am and I did it with a Fenix flashlight in my mouth and bugs landing all over my face because of the light.

The second time, I fixed the stuff that was screwed up, which basically meant all new suspension. It took me like 5 mins the second time.

Also note that my first hang was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. I was wrapped up like a cigar in there. The second time I slept like a baby.

I'd poke around the hammock forum here: http://www.hammockforums.net/. They have some great advice about after market suspension. AmSteel blue is AWESOME. Cinch buckles are AWESOME.
