Got a new Romanian WASR-10 AK-47 under folder from CTD in the mail today. Going to shoot it in the morning. So far I am happy, you can't beat the price.

I don't follow these so much, but what are they going for?

I'm in a bad place regarding going this route or AR. On the fence terribly.

I got it for $450 shipped. I could not decide whether I wanted a AR or AK. I chose the AK for the value and the fact that everyone has a AR or M4.

I had one of the wasr-10s it was an ok little gun loved to rust..I could not stand the stamped reciver to I sold it and bought An arsenal SAS M7 classic and I never looked back. The wasr's are good for the money but all the militec in the world wouldent save mine...

I had a WASR GP 10 once and it suffered from reliablity problems until I put 200 rounds through it. If I ever get an AK again I want a milled Arsenal.

That's a pretty good deal. We need an after shooting report! I'm curious how it shot, & what the trigger is like. Say, isn't that rust around the bayonet lug on the left side just under the gas block? That is what it looks like in the photo. Assuming it is, was it shipped that way?

Oh and isn't the WASR 10 a variant of the AKM and not the AK? Or is my history of AK/AKM's getting fuzzy?

That is rust. What you see in the pictures is the way it came out of the box. I will post shooting results later today.

Good luck with your WASR....I've got a NY legal version of the WASR ( no folding stock / bayo lug). Mine is very reliable , but definitely needs a trigger job or aftermarket trigger replacement. The trigger slaps your finger after firing a round and is a known issue with the model year of my WASR. Other than that I love the AK platform, the 1st time you strip it down to clean it you'll appreciate the simple design...also Militec 1 is a great lube , but not good for rust protection , I use this stuff made by Birchwood Casey ( barricade or something like that) and it keeps the rust under control. I live in a very damp location.

I also have a Russian made Saiga rifle. These are made at the Izhmash plant in Russia. It's a nice, low cost alternative if you want a Russian made AK variant... these are sporterized to allow importation into the US and are not that popular because without modification, they will only accept proprietary low cap mags.

New.

I took it out and fired two mags through it this morning. Shot good, the trigger is nothing to write home about. The iron sights were not bad, will be alot better when I get the Reflex sight and recoil suppressor on. Over all I am happy.

I never said it was full auto. It is a WASR-10/63 from Century arms. They are only available in semi auto.

Someone else has mentioned it so I though it was legit according to this gun. I can't think of any county where auto would be legal so I was like .
Tough Ak-47s like to see some abuse as I heard so give it some;)
