I finally snagged a Fallkniven A2 at a decent price - it arrived this morning. I also found a good deal on a Laplander. I really like the Fallkniven dangler sheaths; they're the best production sheaths I've had.

I'll have to get out and use the A2, but I know it's going to be a success. I just want to take off the microbevel and convex it to the very edge first. Not sure it really matters, but I've done it to the others.

In the meantime, here's a 'clean' group photo, with a few others for reference :D

Great find.
The A2 has been on my list for a while.
Sweet collection you have there.

The Badger Attack III looks like a nice knife. Needs the coating removed, though - for me at least.

I just recieved my A2 about a month ago..I really like it, very good chopper for its size and it is light as well. I love it. Great knife, and I seem to reach for it all the time. Gene

Hey there, in case you were having trouble finding it, the kershaw saw is the same thing, made by the same company.

Thanks for all the comments folks!

It's very, very good and I certainly like it a lot, but just falls a little short of being truly excellent. That's mainly due to its thickness (well, it is a Busse), plus the choil (although its small for a Busse) and coating. There is a thinner stock version that has a satin finish, the anorexic model (ABA) and best of all the ABA-LE. They get a bit pricey though, if they ever come up for sale. Now they look just about perfect (still a shame about the choil)

If mine was thinner I would happily strip and polish the blade and make it one of my main users. As it is it doesn't really see much field time except when I just feel like playing with it. Sure does look good though, especially when I bother to clean and oil the slabs to bring the colour out.

Don't get me wrong, it cuts really well and is hair-splitting sharp. I have thinned and convexed the edge which makes it a lot better but it still find it easier to use a few of my other knives with thinner edges/stock.

Where did you pick up the A2?

Got it from a UK forum, personal sale. Also bought a nice little CO2 powered air rifle, a crossman ratcatcher, designed for 'hunting' at close range like around barns and such. Should be a good little plinker for the garden. Looks like this:

I love the looks of the A2, I've been wanting one for a couple of months now. Just can't seem to ever pull the trigger! Seems like a very good size and shape, and you gotta love a Fallkniven.

All i can say is wow! That A2 is fantastc looking. Id like to get a falkniven someday.

Nice air gun too, I just bought a pump rifle with scope and a co2 pistol with a laser sight. If your gonna "hunt" with it get some good pellets, theyre more accurate then bbs and hit harder.
