For when the wilderness zombies attack - a Ferhman First Strike arrived this morning (Thanks Joe). Kydex sheath made by Joe Chen - much better than the 'official' kydex sheath.

I'm quite impressed so far. Very different feel to my other big knives (mainly Busses). Certainly equal quality to the Busses and gives a very good 'lock-up' in my grip. Can't wait to use it - just need the rain to stop!

Shown with a BATAC and Fusion Steel Heart for scale:

Nice photographs. The Fehrman knives are the ones I've decided not to part with, especially the Shadow Scout. I love the balance and feel of that blade.

Fit and finish are always tops on these well crafted knives. I suspect they are as good as a Busse could hope to be.

Congrats!
Very nice knives and pics!
I'm waiting for my two nwe beauties - Busse BATAC and Fehrman Peace Maker.

You'll like the BATAC. I find it's a very usable knife, especially now I've convexed the edge.

I would like to try the Peace Maker myself. I think the First Strike fits my hand even better than Busse's magnum fusion, which I thought was almost perfect. I like this knife more every time I pick it up; and I've picked it up a lot today!

Let's see some pics when you get them.

Rick.

Peace Maker is a great size, very handy. I wear mine horizontal just left of my belt buckle.

I used to have a Thru Hiker - liked it a lot except the skeleton handle. I cord wraped it and it was ok, but I longed for "normal" handles. The PM should be perfect. Fit and finish on my Thru Hiker was PERFECT, and I expect the same on Peace Maker.
As to BATAC - I wander if I'll like the handle. I like the handle on my Hell Razor although it took some time for me to get used to it (because of my rather small hands), so with BATAC handle should not be diferent.
I will surely post some pics of Peace Maker as there are not many pics of fehrmans outhere. And it's a pity - because they are very nice looking knives.
Sadly the knives will come to me not earlier than in three weeks.
