Got a set of spyderco stones, how do I clean the gooey residue off?

Just make sure if you use a solvent like brake cleaner/carb cleaner/gunscrubber/laquer thinner etc DON'T put the stone back in the holder before it's "completely" and utterly dry, I made that mistake, and it's taken me ages to get the melted plastic out of my spyderco medium benchstone's pores.

You can try nail polish remover, then scrub it of with comet / jif, then rinse and dry. Guarantee it'll all come off. Make sure you rinse and dry.
