Got a Sharpmaker today...

Man this thing is great! I was thinking about getting another knife but I figured a good sharpening system would be better. Plus the edge on my Military needed some good loving.

I went to work on the Military right away and had a good edge back on in a few mins. The edge is very close to how it came from the factory and is back to shaving hair with ease. After the Military I went to work on my BK11 and had it slicing through paper like it was warm butter in maybe 10 mins.

Only thing that doesn't work is the DVD. It gets through the part talking about types of grinds and the right after Jerry says "I think most of us think a knife is just a knife" it craps out. I've tried it on my computer and DVD player and it just hits that point and ends. Anyone else have this problem?

Never had that problem with my DVD. That's weird. Maybe you can get a replacement through Spyderco. I would call them. Congrats on the Sharpmaker purchase. It's a must have for your Spydies!
 
i didnt have that prob ...maybe spyderco will send you another one... or maybe the store you got it at will replace it but mine works fine... and yes the sharpmaker is awesome... i love mine so much that it isnt only dedicated to my spydercos but also my moms butcher knives in the kitchen... way too much fun and never lets you down
 
I might give them a call. I dont have any problems getting my knives sharp but I cant help but think there's something I'm missing out on thats in the DVD.

I've already put it to work on my Spydercos, Benchmade, Becker, Buck, and Kershaws. It works great.
