Got A Special One On The Way

Looks like you modded the grips on the 7A too. I really like that one. You do all of those grips yourself? If so good job, they look great and are the perfect color for an Emerson. I have a buddy who has dabbled in making micarta grips but they don't look as nice as yours.

Hey Steely Dorn! Yes sir, I did all the scales myself. Thank you for the kind compliment! The 7AW was a Stubby project using natural Micarta in 3/16" scales with a backspacer the was extended to match up with the scales. I wanted the knife to have the fingerguard/thumbramp of the HD7 but with a tailend shape like the 45. The knife ended up feeling like a short fixed blade camp type knife to me which was cool. It is now back in it's stock silhouette with 1/8" brown Micarta. Brown Micarta is certainly my fave but I have been messing with the colorfull G10 lately.

I wished I could "be a fly" for a - let me think- week period and fly to anyones abode that owns a mess of Emersons and see if they get used or if they are for show and " deep thoughts".

Nothing "wrong" for not using them for their intended purposes, heck I own some shortwave receivers and a eavesdrop setup that would let me hear someone sniff on their boat in Guam but alas I haven't pushed it for close to eight months so that equipment serves no purpose except it looks neat I suppose. But I also used one of the receivers for 17 yrs. for employment.

So I get it. I really do. And yes I could go a drop three grand + on a custom etc. etc.- or just a mess of "stock Emersons" to have seven more....my wife would wonder why though <heh>. Still would love to be a fly for a week.......as long as I didn't get squashed. Congrats fellas on the Absolute Superb Astonishing Collection of Emerson Knives, I am sure they make you happy and what would life be like if we were never happy. Not fun at all.
