Hi Guys,

Please forgive my forward-ness, but....

Anyone have an extra old pressure pot they would be willing to sell or trade or something? I know I can get one from Harbor Freight, but I'm hoping for something closer to my nearly non-existent budget.

Thanks so much, and all the best, Phil

Have you checked craigslist? I've seen them for $20 here, but it went quicker than I could get to.

Thanks Mike. I've been watching Craigslist and eBay for a while now. Local would sure be better, as there would not be any shipping. I've started talking with painters and suppliers on the off chance some one has one kicking around. Will persevere and strike home one of these days.

I made a very usable pressure pot from a free pressure cooker. I enlarged two holes in the lid, one for a guage and the other for a tire valve stem (I use it for pressure only, but could easily rig up vacuum). It's done well for many years with just one lid gasket change. Good luck with the search.

edit to add: it's regularly run up to 40 psi, don't know what a 'safe' rating would be, same pot has been going strong for well over twenty years, just one experience

Thanks Craig! What kind of pressure can you run that pot up to? I was thinking it probably wouldn't be that high considering they cook between 5-15 psi.
