Got awkward today with a hunter

NeilB, that is the Nite-Ize in the photo! They're available in outdoor stores (REI, EMS) and of course through Al Gore's wonderful internet machine...

Thought it looked so very familiar! :)

Sorry. Haven't had my coffee yet today.

AGR's steel thumbnail has been in my keyring for years now and gets used regularly. Very unobtrusive, but I also usually have a SOG Powerlock pretty close by that takes the brunt of most abuse.

Or you could just carry one of these;

My Horseman (or several of my other Emersons) seems to cope with that sort of stuff just fine.

Strangely, whenever I got an Emerson, something comes up -- either a buddy buys it straight from my pocket or just makes me to present it or exchange for some stuff. People love them, although I carry other knives as well we don't usually EDC knives.

I know that Emerson is the way to go. But I'm trying to limit the number of my EDC knives or my knives for that matter. Recently ordered Blur so I want to explore it before getting another Emerson.

Thought I'd toss this into the mix...

A heat shield has loosened up on my aging Subaru. I grabbed an infinite clamp and slapped it around the offending rattler and tightened it down with my Opinel.

Ok, that's a lie.

The bit about the infinite clamp is true but I used the full sized Leatherman MT I keep in my day pack.

There are many good full to medium sized MT now and so many of us carry backpacks or day packs of some sort. Just toss one in the bag, even if it's not on your hip or in your pocket.

Yeah, I have two full sized tools in my EDC bag, along with a few other handy tools, a book, a radio, and some spare batteries. I'm going to have to see if I can find some of those airline bottles of scotch as a "safety" medicine.

Most liquor stores sell them. They're called miniatures or "nips" usually.

Cool - it was just a thought. Half the fun of this hobbie of ours (if you want to call it that) is trying out different tools/combinations of tools. I know some people hate them (based on experience or otherwise) but Emersons fit my needs. I still have and carry other stuff but as I have said frequently, I always have an Emerson on me. That's just my preference and I know plenty of folks have other tastes.

It's all good :)

Cheers,

Ben

I have a Leatherman Squirt, but usually don't EDC it that much, just in case I see some work coming during a day. I need to try to have it on me all the time.

But when summer comes (actually, from April-May), it gets really hot here, 115 F is a norm, so not much pockets to carry stuff.

Thanks for an idea.

OK, just a tip, but if 115F in April is a norm, move to where the air doesn't wan't you to die.

Currently MIA but I used to carry a Leatherman piranha. Great little tool.
