The KD.Slightly lighter and shorter and the head just has a better geometry for sticking into things(not very bright so not sure how else to explain). The rattlehawks edge is never ending/rounded so its hard to get it to stick. Then again I have no technique so that could play a role.

Upon initial impression I prefer the rattlehawk as I am just loving the head/grinds on it. It has more cutting edge so I find it a little easier to get good chops with it. As far as chopping goes I think they are both pretty equal. Also compred them next to a gransfors wildlife hatchet and though the hatchet will be a bit more practical for different applications, I didnt think it chopped significantly better then either hawks, if it did Id still choose the hawks over it as there isnt much Id expect to hurt them no matter how idiotic I am with them :p

Congrats to anyone who has a KDH on the way. Really wish I was around for the Ganza. Still mad that I couldn't get a couple of KDHs and ScrapMaxs from the shop.

Better post some pictures when they arrive!
 
Mine were supposed to have arrived yesterday... :( Thanks USPS! :grumpy:

Tracking shows that mine left the shop on Monday, went 250 miles the wrong way (East), and then disappeared Tuesday morning in Warrendale, PA. There have been no tracking updates since then, and USPS can't tell me anything beyond that. Hopefully they'll show up... :o
 
Ya mine shipped on 10/01 and was scheduled to be delivered on 10/03 it went MIA with no tracking updates, then showed up in CA.
Just got it today here in NV!
Naomi was great support from the shop with her emails back and forth, much appreciation for great customer service!
No pics yet, need to get the handle wrapped.
 
Mine shipped on the 4th and are in Canada already!! I should see them by Wed!!!

I gave my handled version to my brother-in-law as his first Bussekin and man do I MISS it!!!
 
Mine did finally arrive last Saturday 10/6. Odd there were no tracking updates from Tuesday till Friday. Also odd that they were scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday 10/3, but didn't get there till several days later. Whatever USPS... :rolleyes:
