Dear Uncle Bill and dear forumites,

I got it! I got it! I got it!

Thanks to Uncle Bill's continuous courtesy and lots of efforts the 20inch AK came to me.
It's stiff, solid, heavy, beafy, hefty, and beatiful! It took 200 days all the way to here, Japan but worth waited for.

Some of you might remember, Japanese customs are harsh in rules, but generous (but not always) in applicating the rules. Even if a sword can not pass, a "hatchet" in a same shape, same size passes through sometimes. I tried to import the AK at Yokohama customs twice, no success. The one who rejected my AK said it cannot pass through because it's too long and heavy and versatile and dangerous a "Nepali hatchet." Hey Mr.Customs you're right!

Third time it came to the Tokyo customs. This time OK! Now the trip over 50,000 miles of AK is over. But one funny thing. The Tokyo customs overwrote the declaration! They don't call a khukuri "hatchet", but "a hunting knife"!

Now, a few days after I got the khukuri, my forearms are aching, palms smells like leather and steel. How NICE all of them!

That's great news! Some things are worth waiting for.

Is there any hunting left in the land of the rising sun?I`ve not been there in a long time, domoarigato.

Bob: It may sound strange, I've had a feeling I should post my first post here on HI forum when I put my hand on my AK. Talking with you forumites was another thing I've waited, and worth waiting!

ghostsix: You are right. Very few hunting is possible by even fewer hunters because of harsh banning/prohibiting most guns. Only some talking beast on two feet left

Uncle Bill: Nice to see you and talk with you on HI forum! Since March I've been reading posts on this form it's half year now, happy to join the great forumites here. It's all by your effort and cooperation that carried the khukuri all those thousands miles along, thanx, Uncle!

Just out of curiousity, there's no way for you to claim frequent flyer miles on behalf of your AK-20?

Kozak, I think I can't stand the idea my AK would win a trip around the world for another months leaving me behind... more afraid I cannot get on board with a large knife, and they might tell ME to go home, taking my AK onto the business class.

Cliff, the episode tells us the khukuri had such an ability of penetration into their brains.

Uncle Bill, the AK's already full of STORIES in it, I could add to them so far is how it made my wrists tired, and how my tortured forearms ache. But I now feel it's stimulating the "chopping instinct" that everyone has and few knives can evoke.
