Dear Uncle Bill and dear forumites,
I got it! I got it! I got it!
Thanks to Uncle Bill's continuous courtesy and lots of efforts the 20inch AK came to me.
It's stiff, solid, heavy, beafy, hefty, and beatiful! It took 200 days all the way to here, Japan but worth waited for.
Some of you might remember, Japanese customs are harsh in rules, but generous (but not always) in applicating the rules. Even if a sword can not pass, a "hatchet" in a same shape, same size passes through sometimes. I tried to import the AK at Yokohama customs twice, no success. The one who rejected my AK said it cannot pass through because it's too long and heavy and versatile and dangerous a "Nepali hatchet." Hey Mr.Customs you're right!
Third time it came to the Tokyo customs. This time OK! Now the trip over 50,000 miles of AK is over. But one funny thing. The Tokyo customs overwrote the declaration! They don't call a khukuri "hatchet", but "a hunting knife"!
Now, a few days after I got the khukuri, my forearms are aching, palms smells like leather and steel. How NICE all of them!
