Got it narrowed down, need some opinions

Actually that should make your decision even easier. The warranty on the ESEE should enough to persuade you alone. Will the other companies you mention replace your knife if it were to break under normal use? The 1095 steel on the ESEE knives is much tougher than some may realize, it is easier to sharpen, and holds a great edge. Besides the knife and steel are made in the USA, still need convincing?
 
Of the ones you mentioned,I would get the BK2,without any reservations.It's an excellent value,and can handle anything you throw at it.ESEE knives are awesome too,and offer great value,just at a higher price.

Your preference for weight, length, handle-scale size, and blade thickness are very important. Also, a good understanding of the blade steel is essential. The aesthetics of a knife are nice, but should be just part of you buying decision. Price is also very important! That being said....
Some steal used by Gerber is Chinese--I don't trust it.
The spine of the Seal Pup is not flat and I am sure not easy to accurately baton wood.
The Becker BK2 Campanion is very thick with large scales. It is a Haus of a knife but a bit bigger than some would like. Very heavy as well.

Great, but smaller knives include the ESEE Izula and the new Becker BK14 EsKabar. Great knives for the price.
 
None of the Gerbers. The Seal Pup is a great survival knife but I wouldn't call it ideal. In that general price range I'd consider the Becker and RAT-5 or TAK-1.
 
i do not know why this always happens to me. i pick a knife then i get something else......ok im a adddict to sharp objects......
 
AWESOME help with the suggestions.! I went with the SOG pup. I'm pretty happy with it. Based on your suggestions I will be putting a little from my next check and checking out some others on Amazon ( I ger free 2day shipping on all items sold by them). Thanks for all your imput.
