Look what came in yesterday. Earlier than expected, but no complaints here.
How is it? Well, it's hefty to say the least, but not overly so, at five and a half +- ounces it doesn't come close to the eight ounces the ZT301 does. I like the more narrow handle compaired to the ZT301, with smallish hands it's just about perfect. Wow the lock slab is thick, 3/16" thick, is it overkill? The overall size and look is pleasing. Blade finish stonewash, I love it. Best of all is no break in required, opens/closes smoothly. How do they do that?

check it out

I recieved mine yesterday also, the fit and finish are perfect, the blade opening is smooth and overall size is great. The only change I would like to see is the liner under the scale made of titanium instead of SS, otherwise its perfect.

Sooooooooooooo, Thomas is at falt that i don't have to murder my thumb for a thousand cycles. :) He also must have made sure the details were covered, because fit and finish are amazing. I can't find anything to gripe about(maby nit pick).

Sick. When I first saw these I was thinking that the pattern on the G10 scale was cooler on the 551 but the 550 has really grown on me.

Man, that's a nice freaking knife! I hate threads like this. I need one of these like I need hole in my head. I already have an 0551.

We learned a lot from the 0551's, and the 0550 certainly has refinements to it.

Nice Gull Wing!! Loooks fantastic:thumbup: Now, where the hell did I put Kershawguy's phone number again!?:D

Oh yeah, more detail. The "open"* stop pin is 1/4" dia, that's big:cool: and it stops aganist the Ti slab and the liner as well. I don't think I've seen that before. A very strong touch indeed. Again, over built.

* the "closed" stop pin is 3/16".

Not too sure about the design on the handle. First time I saw the knife was yesterday and it already looks better. Must be growing on me. That is a beautiful knife. Love the blade shape and slight ramp at the jimping. Looks like a tough folder.

I know, that's what really makes me want one. I love my 0551 even with a few warts so this beauty is really calling to me. . .

Damn you Thomas, every time I try to get out, you pull me back in! :D

i think i saw from somewhere that the liner underneath the G-10 is titanium as well. But im not sure

Ordered mine two days ago and it just arrived today!

Incredible knife! Already a top contender for best knife released in 2011. I'm thinking the 0560 has a great chance of being the best knife released in 2012!

What a great time to be a Kershaw/ZT fan!

Bring on the Knockout/Echelon/and Piston!
