Not what you think.

The company I work for is cleaning up, organizing, and getting rid of some older obsolete equipment. I drove into the back room today to find a disc grinder sitting next to a rack. Jumped off the lift truck to check it out.

It has a Rockwell 110/220 single phase 1.5HP motor bolted to a nice sturdy stand. The disc is at least 12" in diameter, but it appears to be possibly bent. The cast shroud around the disc was broken and in pieces, but who needs guards anyways? HAs a nice adjustable table as well. Sunday I will dive into it and see what is salvageable. If the disc is truly bent, a order to beaumont should take care of it. A disc grinder was on my short list of equipment, so this shows up at a good time. The fact that it is on a stand is a bonus because I am running out of bench space.

Nothing is free though. I have to go into work 4 hours early Saturday to 'pay' for it.;)

Great, I worked in some places where I scored cool stuff, too. Got a 20" JET variable speed drill press for $20 one time. Hope the disc isn't bent.

Awesome score buddy!!

Just a thought, if the disc is bent.......after talking with other guys with more experience than me I opted to skip the aluminum disc and went with a steel one instead. The reasoning was that an aluminum disc will get marred up on the edge much more quickly than a steel one. It's important because you are pushing your plunges up against the edge of the disc at times and it would be a shame to ruin your plungers with an uneven disc edge. Just something to think about. Price is about the same for either one. You can get a steel one and K&G Finishing online.

Thanks Jonny. Never thought about the disc being banged up. I will use the advice.
