YAY!!!! Today I received my (New To Me) NMFBM from member Safetyman. All I can say is WOW what a blade. I cannot wait to beat it up really good. I'll try to get a pic up as soon as I can. One quick question... are there any difrerences in the specs on the NMFBM and NMFBMLE? Is one maybe thicker? I know the finish is different. Just wondering about specs wise.

Two side notes... My new Gransfors Bruks Scandi Forest Axe also arrived this morning so I had a really good Friday...

And does anyone think the knife in the new Resident Evil 5 game looks a lot like a NMFBM? The graphics are so good on that game you can actually see that it has silver hollow tube rivets in the handle... three of'em I think.

Yea it does kind of look like a NMFBM....Could the designer by a Busse fan???

Here you can see the handle tubes if you look real close LOL. The game RULES by the way. I don't play video games often... but this HALO 3, and Call Of Duty 4 are favorites of mine.

I would have to concur, except for the butt. Not the NMFBM shape. Could be a Rat Daddy LE?!

I don't know for sure. But I believe they are the same size, length, and thickness. Just different on the sharpened edges and finishes.

Congrats on picking one up.

Here is a pic of my two new Beauts. I gotta clean them up a little. The GB is factory sharp but I know a little while on some 1500, 2000 grit and then strop will have it unworldly sharp. The NMFBM is nicely sharp but I'll have it splitting hairs by Monday. Right now they kinda match with the dark blade finish. I'll hand rub them this weekend and give them both a nice matte gun metal look.

Nice! :thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks man... that GB is AWESOME... it's so light and well balanced for a medium sized axe. I can't think of many field tasks these two girls couldn't get done. Toss my leatherman Charge XTi in with them and you got quite a trio.

Not sure the specs, but I have both CGand LE NMFBM's and the LE is quite a bit thicker than the CG.

Just the opposite for the NMSFNO.

Is that the GB small forest axe?

Yes the LE is definitely thicker than the regular combat grade, & I have found that the Ganza ones are thicker as well, like the white bladed one & the Bama-clay version.

LE and Bama clay NMFBM I have = .275"

Regular combat Grade NMFB's the two I have = .245"

Scandi Forest Axe... it's 25 inches and 2lbs instead of 19 inches and 1.5lbs. Thought it would be a little more powerful but still not to heavy and long to pack. It was the most axe in a packable size that they had IMHO.

Thanks DB... oh BTW the NMFBM I have came with one of your wonderful sheaths. Very nice work my friend.

So there wasn't a NMFBM that was like .3 or .32? I would love to have one that was .32. What a monster that would be. Maybe the KZLE will be .32 thick.

Good to know. Like I said, I wasn't sure. But I should get to see what the LE feels like tomorrow. :D

Next week, I think I am going to weigh the big things & post what they way in Grams, I think the Bama was like 965 grams or something ?

More later.:D

I have been playing with my newly acquired NMFBM LE and must say that it is one hell of a knife!

Nice purchase man! Really dig that Gransfors as well. Been thinking about picking myself up one.

It's almost like looking in my spare room. I regularly pair my GB small forest axe with my NMFBM.

Congrats on the scores mate. Now the only problem you have is finding enough stuff to chop.

[one of] My preciouses!! She is sweet and Fatter Indeed. Had to get a different sheath to fit her! Now I would love to get my hands on a Mossy!!
