Got my 1911, should I post pics?

Got side tracked after taking pictures. They've been up all night I just never posted. LOL. Same link as before has new pictures, I just added them. Before and after shots. :) Springfield 1911 Album

It's sunny today so I'll see about getting some better pics again. If I don't, it's because I got caught up in making Dutch Oven beef stew.

Tom, thanks for the link. Who ever did that did a nice job. Bob and I were talking last night. We will either be reblueing or Parkerizing the gun when I can come down to his place. It's going to look awesome. I've seen his work so I know it's good. The plan is to bead blast and polish by hand, before blueing or Parkerizing.

I am enjoying watching someone besides me become smitten with "old slab sides".
I have 3 variants currently, and have had 2 others that have come and gone.
I really like my Springfield Micro-Compact, for a lighter, smaller carry piece.
On my full size 1911, I have the VZ Grip Diamondbacks, Very coarse, stick to your hands
grips that wont let the gun rock around. On my Commander sized gun, I have the stock Thunder Ranch checkered wood thin grips. Another set of diamondbacks for it one of these days.
My priorities on 1911's are pretty basic...
first, reliability; 2nd, accuracy; 3rd, a nice trigger job. I like around 4 lbs., with no creep and a smooth yet crisp release.

Smitten is right. I bought my first 1911 less than four months ago. I just placed an order for my 2nd, a LB Concept II. It's more than I ever expected to pay for a pistol, but I got it for a killer price. I also realized that with any good firearm the price of ammo and range fees will soon surpass what you paid for the gun.

Shooting the .45 is what got me started reloading.
When you reload, you don't save money, you just shoot more!

I recommend the Dillon Square Deal B. for pistol reloading.

Kam,
My 5 in 1911 is a LB Concept VI (purchased used), and my commander is a Thunder Ranch Comanche. The triggers on both guns are right at 3.25 lbs, and both are extremely accurate. I didnt order the 1.5 in option on the TR, 3 in at 50 yds is well past my capabilities.
You wont be disappointed! One thing I have found, the slides are tight and they don't much care for lighter loads. The Thunder Ranch doesnt even like Winchester White Box.
Break em in at "military ball" pressures, and they will run fine.

I opted for the Dillon 550, since both my lady, Lil Bit, and I shoot .45's.
