Got my 7505-132 today (now with pics & mini-review) - Update.

Great pics.

I don't have that good of a camera or that much patience.

It is a definitely a hard user and great knife. For the price I would say that it ranks up there with the other big name titanium liner lock folders.

Great knife.

Well done Benchmade and great work Stly Brees

Just got mine today.

Saintlybreeses did the pics better than I can; and mine looks just like it.

Using the Dual Action is a bit tricky but getting better at it.

To be honest the manual deployment is so buttery smooth the auto function is almost not needed (almost).

Very happy with knife so far; they sure did the presentation up nicely.

Basically, if one opens the knife in the manual mode it fights NO Springs to close the knife.

If one opens the knife in auto mode it fights the springs to close the knife.

Makes the auto function (almost) not needed.

The COOL factor makes one play but this is a primary Manual Knife IMHO.

Still love it for its versatility if nothing else.

Great blade and concept.

Fun to play with as well.

It does. I assume that is the knife "re-cocking" itself to allow the auto function to fire. Not needed if the auto function hasn't fired, so if opened manually it won't "fight the springs". My take, anyway, without knowing exactly how that function works. :)

And thank you for the compliment on the pics.

It apears that way to me too.

I really like this knife.

Your also welcome on the pics compliment; better than me that's for sure and for certain.

Cool concept, looks like a beast!

Don't know why but the design makes me think of Robocop....if he ever had the need to carry a folder (I'm sure he doesn't he just blasts things open with his pistol) I envision this would be his choice.

Lol! It struck Wife the same way. She calls it my robo knife...

I noticed today that the site where I pre-ordered my 7505-132 has done away with their discount code. So now instead of the knife costing $367 (including discount code) it costs the full $510.

Could this be related to the much talked about "new BM pricing situation" ? Or perhaps the online site just had a set amount of 7505-132's in which they were able to discount ? I don't know. I'm just speculating.

But when I pre-ordered mine a couple weeks ago I only had to pay the discount price so I hope they don't all of a sudden ask me to pay the difference for full retail price.

Yeah. It has to do with the pricing situation. I strongly suspect that you will get your knife at the discount price as you and the company agreed upon a set price of $367 when you bought it. That is a contract and you entered into it before they did away with the discount. They can't retroactively change the deal. Anyone newly buying the knife will have to pay the full $510. You should be good to go. IMO, anyway. :)

I hope you're right. Haha.

And I imagine that there will be no 7505-131's to be found for less than the MSRP of $1200 now. Bummer.

Somehow I missed replying to you. My apologies and thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it. :)

No worries Stly Brees! You took great pics and I appreciate you sharing with all of us.

Have you noticed that when closed you can still move the blade like an 1/8 of an inch back. Seems the detent ball on the liner lock and the stop pin don't meet at the same point. I think I am going to call customer service about this tomorrow. I still absolutely love this knife. It is a monster and sees a lot of pocket time

I also expect them to honor those that pre-ordered @ this discount price,

Good luck.

I wouldn't have purchased the knife @ the $510 price point BTW.

Talked to cutomer service and the movement on the blade is normal on those with autos. Love this knife. It is worth the price of 510 or 600. It is a unlimited limited and will only be around for a short time. This knife in my opinion is just as good as any other hard use ti liner lock. Get one if you can, you won't be sorry.

Update - minor issue.

When re-cocking the blade, it seems to require a much firmer press than before to stay cocked (more below). It also fires easier, so I expect these two changes in operation are related. Now, if you do not firmly press the blade all the way down when re-cocking, it may fire unexpectedly. I had noticed that on some occasions that an attempt to flick open manually would result in the blade actually firing rather than just manually opening. Some experimenting showed that the blade was not completely cocked & locked in these circumstances (although it would not fire from the exact same level of cocking before) and required not much more than to touch the blade to fire.

And now it occasionally fires without even being touched. I had it in my hands, palms open, touching nothing and the blade fired. Puzzling at first. But with a little more investigation, I found that a very firm re-cock will keep that from happening. At least for now. It will be interesting to see if this is normal or if it is a flaw. As the knife continues to break in, it may or may not get worse. A random firing auto, without a physical, secondary lock, is not a good thing. ;)

Time will tell, and perhaps a call to BM to ask about this next week would be justified. Either way, I'll keep the forum up to date on what I find and how the knife performs as it continues to age and see use.

A Benchmade dealer near me here in Montana has the 132 in stock. I played with it for a bit and was put off by the auto-feature. Maybe it's just my feminine hands, but the auto feature almost needed two hands to deploy. The fit and finish on that example was also slightly lackluster, ESPECIALLY for a $600 Gold-Class knife.

I want the knife, but I can't justify more than $350 for it.

Price - Can't disagree with you. I paid $367 for mine and might have paid a smidgen more (knowing what I know now) but not $510 which is the MAP price for that knife. $600 is the MSRP. The MAP is just overpricing the knife, IMHO. Still, I like the knife. A lot. But I can buy a Sabenza or other well made knife for $510.

Difficulty using the auto feature - as I stated above, the auto feature broke in quite nicely for me. I noted in my OP how hard the feature was to use when I first got it in, but updated that it became much easier to use with time. The difference was significant. Now no more difficult to use than my mini-infidel or other automatic. ;)

I don't think I could plop down >$500 on a knife that wasn't ready-Freddie out of the box. I know Benchmade would make things right if the knife wasn't mustard, but it's still principle for me :)

I'll do my best to live vicariously through you lucky few (for now).
