This was something new for me, since all the other khukuris I've gotten before have been 'big bellied' ones which broaden toward the tip, so I honestly wasn't sure how much I'd like this one. But of course, all it took was handling it a little, and I was instantly hooked.
Observations:
* The inlaid horn/bone yin-yangs and the wood grain look much better in person, so I was very happy about that. Unlike many of you "all business" guys here, I'm superficial and like my khukuris pretty.
* I'm really impressed with how easily it draws from the scabbard. That's probably not unusual, but since I'm used to the big-bellied blades, I'm accustomed to putting a little more effort into getting them out. It's a pleasant change.
* Though it's a bit shorter and broader, it handles much like a typical Turkish yataghan, ie. more of a weapon than a tool.
Good stuff! Can't wait to see what my next grab might be.
