Got my DT AS

I just received my desert tan Assault Shaker. (Actually, the package was received a week ago, but I had to have it forwarded to where I am, now.)

Are the desert tan Assault Shakers 5/16? I don't have my calipers, nor even a ruler, with me, right now, but mt DT AS is quite noticeably thicker than my Steel Heart, Paul's Hatchet, etc. Could one of you others who got a DT AS measure it and report back here?

In any case, this is one stout little knife--which is perfect for what I wanted it for.

The finger grooves fit my hand well, despite my extraordinarily light bone structure.

The finish is good, though I don't really understand why people care about the finish on a knife destined for hard use. It's not quite shaving sharp, but a little stropping ought to do it.

It's a very nice little knife.

Really? Thats interesting I had thought that Busse took the AS down to 3/16" some time ago. Looks thicker than a SH eh? I'd love to know what stock you have there.

I have the ultra premium top secret tools need to measure Busse knives, how about sending it to me for a few days? :D

And what tools would those be Nemmy? The hold-it-up-and-compare-it-to-my-3/8" Skeleton Key tool?:p

My DT AS arrived recently too- and it is as thick as my Battle Mistress. 1/4"!
Great little knife. I laced her up with desert tan paracord, but she bit me in the process. She says she wants a sheath. So I'm emailing Dwayne before I get bit again. :)

:p :p :p :p :D :D :D :D

Psssssst!

alphamniv has one on the For Sale forum. Actually, it is paired up with an SK but maybe he'd cut you a deal.

His post notes that it is 1/4" as well.

Led Zeppelin :)
Though Waylon and Willie are certainly righteous.
Right now I'm listening to Hank Williams (senior!) and cooling off with some gin.
