Finally finished my first knife using basic tools and a coffee can style forge on steroids made from a mini beer keg.. Took nearly two weeks.
5/32 1084 steel, oak handle with linseed finish. Modeled after the helle fire (as you can see in the first image), but some design/layout flaws prevented me from actually accomplishing that design.
Definitely a bunch of flaws, things I learned, and stuff I'd have done differently, but that is all good info for knife #2 that is currently in the works.
Thanks for looking, and for all the advice/encouragement I have gotten from here so far directly and indirectly.

Thanks! Definitely was a pretty steep and accelerated learning curve lol

There ya go....everybody starts with the first one! If you gained useful information for #2 then you're on the right path...

Thanks, #2 is coming along much better so far. I am also taking more time to think/plan before just doing things as a result of my previous errors too. I look forward to sharing it when its all done with you guys!
