Got my first CRK today

This is hilarious! But I do know exactly what you're talking about, I've had that excited feeling more than once when buying a knife. It's usually when a grail knife come up at a good price, but you know it won't last long. When you're one of the first to see it and you know all of those other knife nut's are breathing down your neck to get it first!

Congratulations on getting your grail! That's very cool. Do post some pics.

Oh BTW, these baby's are Famous, not infamous! Haha

oops... your right hahaha i dont know how i did not catch that. i have been checking the tracking number like every hour hahaah it is in my state so i should have it by monday!!!!! i already want to order a small regular sebenza so i think i will need a better job. i cant wait to get my hands on my large 21 though

With me, it's a two-hand closer, but I've somewhat adjusted mentally to accept it. :)

I'm glad that, by appearances, CRK has made this change. It looks as though the new Umnum has much of the wide bevel removed on the sideplate. You can see a quite wide bevel on my knife. Maybe I'm wrong...But I'd bet $5.

Perhaps I'll consider sending mine back for a "retrofit."

They did give the lock bar more of lip, but it was quite a while ago and I don't believe they moved any (or at least not much) of that bevel. I'm pretty sure that lip with the little thumb-nail groove was only extended so you could get more of a purchase. This was added quite a while ago, back when they added the lock bar stabilizer I believe, or maybe even before that. But there isn't a big cutout on the non-locking side like it looks in the OP's picture. That's just a funky, picture. The reason you probably never noticed the newer ones have a larger thumb-catch thing is because it's much more subtle on a normal looking picture.
