I got this fillet knife finished up today. It is 1'16" ats34 stainless steel. It is 10.5" OAL and the blade is 5.5" It has an RC hardness of 57-59. The handles are cocobolo and the pins are stainless. Comments welcome. I still need a couple more teak oil treatments on it.

Looks great, Frank! How many shirts did this one kill? :p:D

Seriously, did you harden the steel right after you profiled it or grind it annealed and then do the HT?

No shirts were harmed while making this knife. edro I got the gring started and finished it after HT. Thanks guys

Very nice Pancho. Sleek and it looks very comfortable to use.

The flat grind didn't go very high and the bevels will be very small. I made a shorter version last week and it sliced very very well.

Yep I had the bucket close and dipped after every pass. It took long for such a small grind.

Hey Frank, nice fillet knife very good job. Your on your way big guy on progression and perfection, keep it going. Rey

Beautiful! Functional!

Do you have a full scale outline of the profile? I like the design.

My next goal is to order some 1/16 thick exotic stainless and make some filet knves.

Thanks,

Mike L.

That's a good looking knife, Frank. Where did you get your Ats-34? I see that Admiral has a nice price for 1/16"x6"x36" but the shipping is not cheap.
