Back in October of 02 I picked up a Rotring Quatro and thought it was pretty nice, but it has proven to be quite finicky as far as what you right on. If the paper is wet or badly textured it will not write. So I finally bit the Bullet:rolleyes: Bad pun I know. Anyway I ordered a bullet in the wallet and a regular bullet also. The wallet is extremely well made with lots of room in it,and seems to be made of a high quality leather and as a plus there is that neet little bullet pen in the fold area of the wallet. The Bullet seems to live up to its claims. I work in an enviroment where the paper I write on will either be wet or greasy. So far the Bullet seems to work well under adverse conditions. Plus it is the coolest little bugger I have ever seen. I did not realise how small they were when closed. Nice product.

You can get different Fisher refills to retrofit other manufacturers' pens, including at least some of the Rotrings.

I just picked up a few Fishers from their website, inspired by another recent discussion here. I got the American Flag Retractable (All Metal, Red White and Blue Space Pen) which is slimmer than a Bullet and 5" long. I also got three of the Fisher Stowaways (Small, Pocket Space Pen) which is 4" long and 1/4" diameter, matte black, capped, with a gold-tone clip. It cost a buck more than a refill, which is all it is; it's a throwaway when the ink is used up. It's so light, I literally cannot feel the weight in my hand.

Don't be so quick to get rid of your Rotring! I replaced the blue pen on mine with a Fisher refill! I like it better than the Rotring refills. I replaced the black pen in my Quattro with a PDA stylus. So my Quattro is now: Fisher blue refill, PDA stylus, .5mm lead pencil, orange highlighter. Pretty cool!

Thanks for the info guys. My Quatro would be perfect with the Fisher refills!:D  I do love the small size of the Bullet though. It is a neat adition to a wallet.

Are these the Cap-O-Matics in Fisher's Economy line?

Scott

Scott, go to Economy at http://www.spacepen.com/usa/index2.htm under Cap-O-Matic, scan down to the Matte Black Military Space Pen -- this is my standard pen for a while now, I keep them everywhere.

But go to Economy, below Cap-O-Matic, below Rocket pens, and you see ... Economy pens. The second one down is the Stowaway.

is staples still selling bullet pens for 12.95?

hmm I can't seem to find it on their webpage at all. Maybe I am wrong.

I tried my local Staples, Office Max and Office Depot and none carry the Fisher Pens:( I guess the only place to get them is the web site.

Come to New Jersey :D Staples sells them here ...

You can get them on a lot of websites. I'm sure Brigade QM carries them.

yeah, BQM has them. if you get them from penwa.com you get a free refill of whatever color and size you would like with your order for only a dollar extra.

I was at Staples earlier this week. They had them for $14.95. I've looked at their website before and haven't seen them there.

Welcome aboard the Fisher Bullet Train. (guffaw, guffaw, yuk yuk)

I've been a big fan of Fishers for about a decade now. After several of the matte black versions, I ponied up for the ti plated version. Pretty damn cool, if I must say so. Great pens, you'll soon wonder how you got along without one.

I'd like a sanity check, though. On the Fisher website, under their "Unique" heading, some of the Millenium and Mars are hitting the $200 MSRP level. The Milleniums are guaranteed to write "satisfactorily for your life". Well, alright, but in the Mars section, it's siimply listed that they're "non-refillable". I sure hope they forgot to mention a guarantee on a $200 non-refillable pen. Yikes!

The Fisher/Rotring combo sounds like a real winner. BTW, I've been using Parker refills in my standard Rotring 600 for a while now, and they do work great and seen to write better than the originals. I've recently started using the Parker gel refills, but the jury is still out on them.

I don't like the looks of the Millenium or Mars pens much. They don't even look all that comfortable to hold. A number of Fishers are too slick actually. The matte black gives a better grip by far than the chrome.

Riding on the Fisher Bullet Train,
can't find any reason to complain.
Maybe I should say I don't need the clip;
it doesn't help much trying to get a grip.

Not to enter into a treasonable conspiracy here, but I agree the Parker refills are excellent. I have a massive French ballpoint, the Zig-Zag, that came with a big Parker refill, and it writes on and on, and never glops up at the tip.

It is good to see that I made a good decision. I tried to find Fisher products at our local Staples and Office Max. They dropped Fisher products, locally at least.:( I ended up getting them at The Writers Edge. Nice selection there! I love having one in my wallet now. Then I know I will always have a pen when I am out, since my wallet and EKI Lagriffe go with me everywhere that I go clothed. The matt black Bullet was what I got also. Ilike the low key class of it. Small, sleek, and quietly classy.:D ;)

ArchAngel I was curious if you purchased the full size wallet and what are your thoughts on it. I would think with the pen in the crease that it would be rather thick in that area. Any info you might have would be appreciated.

Well, before I got this wallet I was using a tri-fold wallet. This wallet, (full) of my stuff and the pen is still thinner than the tri-fold is empty. I also wear the wallet with the wallets center part where the pen rides on the outside of my butt cheek. I have found it to be very comfortable so far. BTW, yes it is the fullsize wallet. The pen is about 3/8 dia at its largest, so it isn't that big anyway.

Come on down the road just a few miles to New York City and you'll learn to carry your wallet in a front pocket! :D

I used to drop a bullet pen in my suit or sports jacket pocket as a backup and then forget it was there. The dry cleaner learned to look for it.
