Got My First Hinderer

Wow bro...just wow! Congrats! I hope to join the club soon. I'm shooting for a 24 but they're tough to get without getting raped.

hey lone wolfe, what size is your xm?

It's a 3.5. I've actually got 2 now, both 3.5's.

edlex. Tell me about it, I still haven't managed to get one. I'm trying to catch the next run and get one direct from the shop.

what are your impressions now since it's been a few months, and compared the the CRK's you have. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. My impression after a few months and now having 2 of them is that it's like comparing apples to oranges in so many ways. The CRK's are all about refinement and precision, whereas the Hinderers are tanks. For a lot of EDC needs I like my Sebenza, although I carry an Umnun or Mnandi occasionally too. Anytime I think I might need the knife in my hand and ready to go quickly, or if I might have a need to put some hard use on my knife, out comes the Hinderer. I've taught myself to open it very fast in either blade up or down position in my hand.

hah, no worries. I'm overseas myself right now, so when i have wifi, i'll pop onto the forums and check things out. Do you have a preference for blade up or blade down with the hinderer? I remember asking elsewhere and was told Rick prefers tip down. Since we can't alternate the clips on our sebenzas i'm curious about the other way.

After browsing around this forum i feel sad i didn't win the raffle at the california custom knife show. At the time Hinderer was still too new to me to know anything about it. Missed opportunities :barf:

you should post up some more photos from the sandbox
