Had a present waiting for me in the mailbox today.
My first Khuk. I spoke with Uncle Bill. He was very helpful.
I placed an order Thursday. Got it today in the mail. It was a nice
15" AK.

There is no kydex, no stainless, no micarta.

BUT, it screams soul. It has a feel to it. It has a certain aura if you will.

It just feels right in my hands. It has great balance. She is fairly sharp as well. The sheath has a nice leathery comforting smell about it.

The fit and finish are pretty dang good. This is my first Khuk, but I daresay she won't be my last.

Thanks to all the forumites, and thank you Uncle Bill!

Brian,

Congrats on your first Khuk, you picked a good one for you first one.:)

Welcome to the Cantina.:D

Congrats Brian.
I've seen you lurking for a while now.;) Welcome to the Cantina otherwise known as the Psycho Ward!!!!:)

Welcome to the Cantina, Brian.
The 15" AK is a very good first choice for a khuk. I've got one and it's done everything and more i've asked of it. Congrats and be ready for many a sleepless night as you toss and turn and plot and plan on how to get your hands around another HI khuk;)

Thanx,
Jake

Yep, sounds like another one getting into the HIKV and, coming down hard.
Welcome to the Cantina. That 15" AK was really my first Khuk and I still love it. I'm not sure where or is you can find another knife that size that can do the work that knife can. and, Yes Sir, they all have there own personality. If you are paying close attention the khuk will teach you how to use it. Enjoy!!! :D :)

P.S. Please pay attention to the safety thread.:)

Hey there Brian,

When I first saw a few of your posts, I though "How dare this guy copy my signature quote!"

But it's okay... Where'd u find it?

And how's your new 15" AK doing? Having quoted the man James Keating himself, I'd have expected u to be more of a duelling Bowie fan...

Guess that assumption goes out the window. You know what they say 'bout assuming... :D:rolleyes::D

Welcome. Stick around a while...might teach us a thing or two...

HIBUKE:

I got it right from the man's site. I have always been a big fan of Mr. Keating. I am decent with the Bowie, but kinda hard to do Drawpoint with it.
The 15" AK is growing on me. I have my buddies up here at work in awe of it. It just sings in my hands when I swing it...carefully of course.

PENDENTIVE:

I doubt I could teach ya'll anything. I am looking at my AK with "new eyes" though. I might turn something up. You never know.

That's even more interesting!

I got it off his friend, Laci Szabo's website. It happens to be on the opening page...

Hang on Brian. It's gonna be a ride. Hopefully you'll have as much fun as I have. Welcome.

Hey Brian, nice to see you on the HI side. What SOG you going to pair your AK with? My Combo is a 15" AK and SOG Government.:)

Keep your blade oiled -- those swamps will generate some rust.

And thanks for feedback.

Will do!

I cleaned off the protective coating and applied some Marine Tuf-Cloth to her.

My buddies at work got quite a kick out of her.

:D :D

I don't know quite yet.

Do be honest, for outdoor activities, I am considering pairing her with my Chris Reeve Green Beret.

But she sure would look nice with my SOG SEAL2000.

If I might offer a suggestion about what knife to pair up with your 15" AK, I'd like to put in a plug for the Kumar Karda. It's about the size of a Kabar, but built stout like a khuk and excellently balanced. It makes a great field knife on it's own, and since it's made from the same materials by the same knifemakers as the khuks, it's a perfect complementary piece to any one of 'em. Just a random thought.

Sarge

by the way, welcome to the Cantina, best bunch of guys you'll find anywhere

The Kumar Karda hasn't come up in any specials since I've been here (about 4 months). Not that I'm cheap or anything, but I was wondering why. Are they rare, or in high demand?

Don't you remember the Christmas Kardas?

Cute lil buggers...

:D

Dam. You're right! I think the red sheaths burned the memory out of my mind.

Those sound like good combos. Though, Sarge is right. The Kumar Karda goes nicely with the AK. My mom loves hers. It eats card board like no other. Plus it's great in the kitchen. Wish I had one.
