Posted this to the Reate thread, but I gotta make a stand alone thread I'm so stoked.

Bought a Horizon C and loved the heft, the glass smooth opening, and the feel of quality.

There was one thing missing...it wasn't tacticool enough.

I sent it off to Bladeforums vendor Josh at http://www.razoredgeknives.com/ to have to him Cerakote it and sharpen it.

The result? Judge for yourself:

I'm crazy anal retentive and this knife is effin' perfect.

I thought there'd probably be a fingerprint, or a scratch, or a marring inside the torx screws, or something.

I can't find anything, even in bright ass sunlight.

Not to mention it's still glass smooth, and dead centered.

Huge kudos to Josh who made the experience very easy and pleasant, with workmanship I could not be more satisfied with.

Now I'm scared how easy (and affordable) it was, I'll start getting other knives pimped!

How do you guys like it?

:D

ETA: Lanyard was made by another Bladeforums service provider: u812 I have his excellent lanyards on all my knives, super tight weave and affordable.

Very smooth cerekoat job. I can't see an imperfection anywhere on it.

My gosh that is very cool! I really like it! It almost looks like it should have been that way to begin with.

Josh does magic work......

I really like the color contast, the whole knife is simple and clean.

As far as looking "tacticool" I am not sure what that is?! But it looks perfect!!

Looks great, reate and kizer make knives so flamboyant they make liberachy blush. Nice to see one in full mall ninja dress, I like it. also that is probably my favorite color combination.

Josh did a little work for me and I would reccomend him without reservation! Every part of the transaction went great and his work was flawless!
RarestRX your horizon looks perfect! I'm wondering how the cerakote will hold up after some hard use and time, especially the blade?
Congrats RarestRX

I would guess it will hold up as well or better than any other coating. The finish on the Busse choppers with Cerekote that were offered at Blade this year seemed to do well,at least well for getting pounded into wood. That will eat any finish off fast.

Mike, you know those guys who never use their blades and only carry them for self defense? Who send their knives back to the factory to get sharpened because they can't do it themselves?

Yep, that's me.

:stupid:

That looks sweet! I saw that pic while browsing his thread last night. I plan on shipping him my hills for the same treatment but with blue instead of the green. That blacked out hardware just makes it pop.

Absolutely. I should have taken a pic of the black standoffs, they look sweet as well. The cerakote really changed the character of the knife, and man, I also think the clip side looks better than the presentation side. :O Make sure to post the finished product in the Reate pic thread, can't wait to see it!
