Ordered a Delica 4 with stainless steel handle on Friday from New Graham and got it today. I go to college in Connecticut and was looking for a folder which is both legal in CT and doesn't look quite as menacing. I used to carry a ka-bar MULE which doesn't exactly meet those two criteria. Until now at college I had been carrying a LM Wave which took up a lot of pocket space. I also missed having my knife clipped to my pocket instead of having to dig around for it.

First impressions: I like it. It is a bit smaller than what I am used to in a pocket knife, but I think I'll adjust. I will enjoy the slimmer profile in my pocket. I used to not like the design of spyderco knives in general, but after looking through a lot of them they began to grow on me. So far this seems like money well spent. If I weren't living off a college student's budget, i would buy more. :D

Marzola - I just got my first Spydie last month. I have had a few knives over the years, and I agree Spyderco's are definately money well spent.
Welcome to the addiction (that's what I keep getting told;-).

I think there are a lot of us who have had similar experiences. I think the first time I saw one was around 1990 or so and I thought they were the ugliest looking knives I'd ever seen. Then I started looking for a new folder earlier this year after joining bladeforums and heard a lot of good stuff about Spydies and checked them out. Now pretty much all other folders look odd to me, and I hate thumb studs!

You picked a great knife to carry as a college student. I cant think of any knife that is better for the price.

Most of my college age friends carry either Delica's or Native's. Welcome to the club, I'm certain you wont be disappointed.
