Got my first ZT today, 0550, some thoughts

I did what was suggested. Fixed off center blade a bit and I can live with it. The weak detention is what really worries me. I don't know. Maybe it's fine. My para 2 has very good detent. It has the big spidy hole for opening though. I honestly don't know if the detent this knife has is normal or not. I just know its about half what my pm2 is. I also realize the blade is bigger and heavier so it has more mass when I "wiggle" my wrist and opens easier. I realize this is difficult but is there anyway someone can describe to me how much detent I should had?

If what I have is normal and nothing to worry about then I won't worry about it, sharpen it stupid sharp and giver.

If you are having doubts about the knife, contact ZT and send it in if necessary. The knife carries a lifetime warranty to the original owner. Give them a chance to fix the issues you bring about.

FWIW, my 0550 was centered, grind was fine, sharp, detent was what I expected. My serial number is 0550.... no joke lol

Yes shipping it seems easiest but being in Canada it will likely cost me another $50 or so to ship it and customs charges. Which will put the total right at $300 for this knife. The old joke of course being that Canadians get all the seconds/blems guns, knives whatever because shipping them back is a hassle and expensive.

@Whelen Nut

Ive got 2 ZT's, the 0550 and 0200. Both have a relatively weak detent, so i wouldnt worry about it. I think thats just how ZT makes knives plus they both have pretty big and heavy blades. That being said, try tightening the pivot a little bit and see if you can find the sweet spot. That helped on my 0200.
