Got my grail today guys!!!!!

Bigfatts - A grail doesn't have to be expensive. Just has to be a knife you are really after. When you get one you feel that feeling of "Wow this is the greatest", a knife that you're enamored with. =]

Heh, well it certainly is that!

Man, some seriously gorgeous knives in this thread.

I would love to eventually get a Sebenza, they're so beautifully simplistic to look at and from what I've read amazingly tough.

Right now the most I've spent on a knife was about $175. Maybe one day I'll be able to acquire one somehow.

That's how I was just 6 months ago. When I first started collecting, a Benchmade 551 was my grail. I could never imagine spending over $70 on a knife a few years ago; now $70 is pocket change for EDC gear. I just dropped $375 on my first mid-tech, a Strider SNG; and I still have a Benchmade LFTi and a Gold Class 551 on their way to my house.

Well then it's a grail for you.
The Boker Albatros was a grail for me and it's not really expensive but it's one I was stuck on for a long time, and when I got it, it didn't disappoint.

Have me a VECP or two or three or.......... One of my all time favorites!! I like them better than my Sebs! To me it doesn't get much better. Les is a genius! The Wilson Eagle flipper by Les...omg!! Amazing!!

I think a grail is a knife that is currently out of your price range, or is currently very hard to get your hands on. It's one of those knives that you just see and you're instantly in love with it; for me that was the Skirmish about 2 years ago. I saw it in a HELLZARMY video, and I had to have it. Now that I got that and a Strider SNG, which was also a grail of mine, my next grail is a Large Sebenza 21 or a Les George VECP.

^^^ His is the full sized Skirmish. =]

Well this should just be a "Show your grails" thread lol.

Do you still need the pics of your VECP hosted? I'll take care of it for you if you need them hosted and posted.

I love those, but I think they may be too small for me. How much do those normally cost?

^ I think they're around the same price of the Sebenzas. There's a large and a small version.

I love the JYD too. I literally just bought a Ti Kershaw JYD on the exchange! Killer design.

Knife2aGunfight I sent you a couple of emails of my VECP. I really appreciate your hospitality guys. I have been in the firearm industry for 15 years and I am a master pistolsmith now. Let me tell ya' the people I have met in the blade forums are a cut from a differnt cloth!!! I have never met such nice friendly people I can talk and share my passion of knives with. Striderco dude I envy you my brother!!! I almoat got the WC Eagle instead of the VECP, but I knew I would regret it if I didn't get a VECP first. I will buy a membership to the site with my next paycheck you guys are amazing!!! I just love this site I really mean that.

K2AGF - I have large hands and while the handle is kind of small, it works, It feels good in the hand. I'll have to take an in hand shot sometime.
As far as price, the Small originally went for $350 and the Large went for $400, Tim has since stopped making them so when they sell the prices are a little higher.
They're harder to come by now so really I got mine in a trade out of pure luck. I'm extremely happy and it rides excellently with my Large Sebenza.

YOU!!!

Nice pics of your VECP!
I like it a lot.
I just literally made a trade agreement to trade my Small Seb for a Strider SNG Z-Ware. So excited for that one!

like the pocket clips, the standard pocket clips just seem way to much, takes the attention away from the knife.

I don't know if it counts as a grail because it isn't particularly expensive, but it is rare. Enzo Birk. This one is Scandi ground D2. Maybe it's a grail, I have been trying to track one down for 2 years.
