Got my haul from Dave today!

I thought it was supposed to be mine!

I'll be okay though, I got a present in the mail from Dave yesterday. A 0560 and an echelon. The echelon has already turned blue, maybe I'll post a pic of it in the modded knife thread when I get a chance.

Unfortunately the blem on the 0560 seems to be stripped out clip screw holes on the non-lock side. It shouldn't be a problem though, I'll just see if I can get some threaded inserts in there, unless anyone else has a better idea.

So you're the one that got the last 0200kw! That was supposed to be mine!! :p

I got two 0561s from Dave in the mail yesterday, a blem for me and a new one that is a Christmas gift for a buddy. The funny thing is that I can't find the blemish on mine, and I actually like the detent on mine better. The new one also shows machining marks on the blade through the stonewash, which I thought was odd.

RJ80,
I'm guessing you're a south paw? Maybe try and find the next size up screws? Though miniature machine screws can be a bit tough to find.

When I got my order in there was an extra knife (a 3160) in there that I hadn't ordered. When I asked Dave about it he replied "Twas a Gift" :) The funny thing is that I saw the same knife at Walmart earlier in the day & almost bought it.

I've got a small problem now. On of the ones I ordered was intended to be a gift, but I'm definitely liking it too much now. So, now I need to order another. While I'm at it, I guess I could go ahead & get a few more...

wobly, what fixed blades are those?

RJ80, is it the screws that are stripped?

Yes, I've been blessed with left-handedness. This is the second 056X I've had with this issue with. I think the screws are just a bit too short on some of them, probably a tolerance stack-up issue. They just barely catch and then strip out. KAI fixed my 0561 for me but the 0560 is a blem so I'm on my own. The screws look fine, so I think I just stripped the first thread out of the liner. I'll try some longer screws first, if I can find some. If that doesn't work I'll either put some inserts in or weld up the liner and re-drill and tap it. I've moved the clip on quite a few knives before and never had a problem before these two. Has anyone else had this problem? Sorry for the thread hijack.

They are the 1080 Skinner and 1082 Hunting knife. Considering the blems are cheaper than a cheap hunting knife that I might lose, I consider them a bargain!

Your wife ENCOURAGES THIS?!?!?
She's definitely a keeper

Yep, she is a keeper! Also, for Christmas, she got a S&W M&P9c. She tried to burn through a brick of 250 9mm yesterday.

I got my order in about 10 minutes ago.

In about 5 minutes I'm going to check my mailbox. From past experience, Dave is a very fast shipper!

:D

Dave does awesome stuff like that. He makes you feel appreciated as a customer. I wonder if he knows that it is us who need him and not the other way around?

I'm not sure about the 0300's, but they're the same as my 0350.

The 300s use a long T6 screw that holds it together. Kershaws & ZTs use lots of T6 screws. The ones for the 300 are a bit longer than the 350. I bet a call to ZT's customer service can have a bunch of those screws out to you.

Thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can talk them into sending me some 0300 screws. If not they're just a black 2-56 button head, one of the knife making supply places should have them.
