Got my list (pretty much) down to 2 knives

Get both, then give your buddy which ever one you like least. You will both be very happy. ( Though tell him " I picked this one out with you in mind" it sounds much better)

If you're unhappy with the plastic handles on the Delica, then you can always go SS. I just got a Police and Scorpius in a passaround, and am very displeased with the SS handles, but thats just me. The plastic handles on my Delica and Endura have a better grip than the ones on the Police and Scorpius IMHO.

Thank you for your responses... given the overwelming support for the Delica, I ordered one. Now I have to wait. Patience is a virture.... or that's what I keep telling myself. You guys scare me though. If I spend too much time reading this forum, I probably will decide that "$300 isn't too much to spend on a knife, and, after all, it's important to have a good knife, and this is the last one I'll buy............." Then I'll end up eating ramen noodles for the next 6 months. you guys are probably bad influences on me..... Oh well, have a nice day anyway :)

I am not there yet, but I spent $220+ on a knife yesterday ;) Of course the "retail" price is supposed to be $399, but that might be a farce.

I don't mean to confuse you, but if you really spend 300$ on a knife, you may as well look around on the market, and buy a real high-end one. IMHO of course, and you may rather not listen to me :D

No worries, then you can cut those noodles with your $300 knife ;).

Sebenzas and Striders hold their value, depending on how much you abuse them. Depends on which custom makers knife you get. Just make sure you actually use whatever you buy.

buy a benchmade 710HS and a spyderco manix and you don't have ot buy anything else :)

Except a Benchmade Doug Ritter Grip in large and small, and a Chris Reeve Sebenza. Then you'll have a nice mix. :)

to check out the Exchange Forums here. You can get almost new knives for less than online prices. Oh, welcome aboard.

Welcome to Bladeforums! :)

You've got your list down to 2 knives ... stick around a while and you'll have a list down to a couple hundred knives, and you'll find yourself thinking $300 isn't toooo much for a really nice one. :D

Can't ever go wrong with Spyderco. I've got an Endura "Wave" on the way as we speak!

i have this problem already and ive only bought one knife in my life

Interesting, Esav, a real, honest to God Emerson Waved Endura and not somebody's effort with a Dremel. Looks nice.
