OH YEAH.!!! I got my 6 yesterday.. And as my Junglas came as sharp to shave, so did my 6. I'm wondering why some here think its a "large blade"? To me it seems to be a smallish to mid sized camp knife. I got the option of the top drop sharpened for a few more uses, the grip is great.! (but I'm gonna make a few custom extras for kicks and grins.) Chops very well for a smaller blade, and so far is still kepping its edge. (its HARD to dull any Esee.!!!) Great edge holding ability. The fire stick works quite well. Just flatus, ing around with it indoors, it made a blob of a spark and I had to make sure my carpet did'nt start fire.!! *OK outdoor use from now on* So I was going to but some Med. gauze in the capsule, or maybe cotton? Got any other ideas out there? for a good spark catcher? So my Esee laminate card collection is growing. (Future collection cards.!!!) I love this 6. But... Hum? what next? Thanks, Enjoy..*I am* edgy:thumbup::thumbup:

Nice buy. I'm trying to decide between getting a HEST or a CP 6. How comfortable is the 6 to carry?

As to the firesteel I keep 4 PJCB(Petroleum Jelly Cotton Balls) in mine.

OK A thing I don't know. Really there are some things.. So what is "PJBC"? I was thinkin about cotton balls, but an extra exelerant would be good. As far as carry, I went out a few hours ago to field test my 6, and I have to start another thread to ask about what is wrong . But so far as for weight its great.! perrrfection in a good camp knife. The sheath fits great, and the design lets you slip it out of the sheath with a bit of jimping. I have molle clips with mine, and I'm either messin somethin up? or it sits a bit high? Or I have the wrong clips? I dunno yet, but I am going to post a thread with pics and ask whats up? If I can get it to adjust to where I want it. THEN.. Its all around a Great carry. Enjoy. edgy:thumbup:
Its one I may sleep with...:D

good stuff. i keep a stick of fatwood inside my esee fire kits.

The 6 gets even smaller with use and seems to just disappear in your hand. I use it like most people use the 4 and carry it at all times. Get the Junglas next.

Oh that was my !st one. as mentioned so many times here. "Go Big or Go Home.!" My Junglas is my homerun hitter, my 6 is for hittin doubles. And you're right, a 6 would get smaller, but I have Good back up.:D Enjoy edgy:thumbup:

+1 on dryer lint. I keep some in a ziplock. Burns nicely. Congrats on the knife!

"Dryer lint" Huh. Go figure. I will give that a shot as well. You guys are keepin me real busy.!! Very good on ya. enjoy.! edgy:thumbup:
Luv it, more tests.
This is a great group here.!!!

I'm a big fan of petroleum jelly cotton balls. I believe there is a video out there of a guy igniting one as it sits in a bowl of water. It burns for quite some time floating in water.

PJCB's rock. You can make 100 of them for like $2. Put them in your kit, and you're good to go

I used to carry trioxane bars till one package ripped open somehow in my pack. Stunk everything up. PJCB's also are mutli-purpose. Use them to rub on chaffing spots , scrapes , and lube up knife edges.

Cotton balls for tinder.

Petroleum Jelly makes em burn longer.

Threads like this always remind me that, I need to buy another knife.

I have a question.
What part is on the back of the sheath in the last photo on the right?

Here is another picture of it.

Is that the large Tek-Lok? (I don't think it is..)
Maybe the small MOLLE Lok?

Thanks.

On the side facing up is MOLLE loks. On the bottom side is the ESEE 5/6 belt plate.

Definate +1 on the soaked cotton balls. Dryer lint takes a spark very well, but burns up too fast. In addition to that, once it gets wet you can kiss it goodbye. You can get multiple uses out of one soaked cotton ball, and works quite well in most conditions. I have quite a few jammed into mine.

Although it catches a spark nicely dryer lint is more of a flash tinder. The PJCB's catch a spark and burn for a longer time.
