Hi all,
I am excited! The UPS guy just dropped off my new knife. I am not the proud owner of a Spyderco Tenacious. I've just been openiing and closing it and cutting some paper for the last half hour, but so far I love it. I'm very excited. It is heavier and a little longer than I expected, but still good. My little hand will get used to it eventually. Love it!!!
See ya,
Gray

Congrats Gray. I own several Spydies but not that one. Everything I have read about it is good. Enjoy the new toy.

The Tenacious is a great knife, regardless of cost, mine is so sharp it could be a laser beam. Congrats

I still love it, even after adding some "higher end" stuff (Sebenza, 940 Osborne, Rittergrip) to the collection.

Enjoy it! Just DO NOT take it apart if you don't absolutely have to. The washers are like krinkle paper and fold if you so much as even look at them the wrong way. And the only replacements available from Spyderco don't really fit like the originals.

Really? I took mine apart and had no problem at all with the washers. Either way enjoy the new knife!

Thanks guys! I can't wait until I have a few days off so I can really get to know my new knife. So far i love it. After handling my wave all night long last night (long story) the Tenacious didn't feel nearly so heavy this morning. Quick question, can I flip the pocket clip to make it tip up? It looks like a hex instead of torx screw...am I right? sorry if i sound dumb.

Ok, I'm gonna gush a little more. I had no idea a knife could be this cool. I'm sure there are several other's out there that are more awesome than the Tenacious, but wow! Most of my knives were either given to me by my dad or bought at flea markets/yard sales or I bought cheaper knives (like Gerbers). I had no idea a knife could feel and be this solid! I mean everything about it. It is stout. I locks so tightly I can't believe it. Even closed it feels just solid. Wow! I'm weird, i know, but I'm just so darned impressed. This is the first knife I've ever bought for myself that is of this quality. I'm sure this knife is on it's way to being tied with my buck 110 as my all time favorite knife.
Ok, I'm done.

tenacious is my favorite knife right now too. i like the wide shape of the blade. the screws for the clip are torx not hex. size #8 if i remember correctly

Yeah I just got the tenacious too and boy is it impressive for what you pay. Its my first experience with spyderco and will deffinitely not be my last.

Glad you like your tenacious. I had a break in period of a few days fiddling with it, but now it opens and closes very smoothly.

The clip and body screws are 1.5mm Hex and the pivot screw is 2mm. I had to fiddle in the hardware store to figure that one out. Eventually it dawned on me that it was made in China and would be metric and not standard.

Enjoy!

The Tenacious (SE) is my favorite carry right now, after having been switched to tip-up carry. It's in my pocket right now.

i just test fitted the torx bits in the screws and it fits solid. T-8 is for the pivot and T-6 is for the clip screws.

Maybe I should check the quality of my torx drivers because mine didn't fit too well.

Hex is correct. Torx fit, and fit well, but not perfectly. You can really see the difference on the pivot screw because it is the largest.

But to be safe you should just use the hex... or so Spyderco customer service tells me. Replacing stripped screws could be a b!tch.

Good luck.
