Got my new Mud Mutt!

After a little bit of stropping, this is by far my sharpest Busse family knife. Could it be the thinner blade?

I can't put this thing down. it's just awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean ! I love this Mut ! What a great blade ! Any chance of a satin version with a swedge ? I think that would be a really cool slicer, not that this one isn't :D mine came super sharp.

Oh yeah! Me likey Mud Mutts!!!!
Must resist add-to-cart-button... :p

I'm definitely thinking of opening up the choil and maybe also dropping the point a little more, whereupon stripping might be a good idea... I must admit, what I really want is:

What do you think of the grind Chiral?

It's asymmetric, both the primary and the edge bevels - the flat on one side is ~1/2" and the other side 5/8" but linear all the way up, the edge bevel is 1/16" on one side and 3/32" on the other. The same for both knives. By the way, Denny made each one paper-slicing sharp but not face-shaving, 25-26 degrees per side (50+ inclusive). The edge is 0.030" thick at the shoulder in the belly, 0.040" thick mid-sweep.

If I modify one, I'll bring the edge down to 15-dps. The asymmetry of the primary isn't that noticeable because of the the crinkle-coat. If I strip one, I may even out those bevels.

The Scrap Yard Moderators received a black handled one; everyone else got the sage colored handles.

It's really a sweet little knife!

Tom; pic showing one black handled knife and two others- to me them others look like green handled knives, or is that just due to the light ?

Black handles on the test-models, available to Yard-forum mods only afaik.

The green color is due to my poor pics; they are sage as mentioned. And the black handled ones were given to Scrap Yard Mods as also mentioned, but who knows what might show up in a future ganza. It really IS a nice lightweight knife!
