I agree with the Sig P228 being the best 9mm!

With regards to the sheath, I had the same thoughts when I ordered my first RAT (RC-4). I'm a leather guy and was not sure about this Kydex stuff. After using it, however, I'm a convert.

The RAT Kydex sheaths are very well designed and very versital. I've only used leather up to this point, so I was surprised how much I liked it.

I'm hoping to find the RC-5 with kydex for a good price, most retailers still have the older style Cordura Nylon sheathing with th RC-5's... That drove me to choose the RC-6 first.

The clip can only go on one way. It's on right.

In your photo it appears you have the metal clip on backwards or either it's pushed up. It should be flat against the Kydex on the knife handle side.

mmmm im going to have to track one of these down.... i love the nylon (minus cutting one of the retention straps off un sheathing it oops) .... i keeping a kydex for my belt and the nylon for my molle gear sounds great!

Also, I didn't put the clip on, it's the way it came. So your statement "it appears you have the metal clip on backwards" should read "it appears WE PUT the metal clip on backwards". All I did was screw it to the sheath.

Sorry, I may be grumpy, but that really rubbed me wrong.

I just tried to remove the metal clip to flip it around and I can't get it off. If you gave any suggestions as to how, I will try ti flip it around to see if that helps.

Well, I didn't mean to rub you wrong. Wow, what is it lately with the RAT forum, everyone is on edge and seems to be in hyper-sensitive mode. My apologies!

Now that I see a clearer picture of it I see that the clip is on the correct way, so I guess WE put it on right. Was hard to see in your first pic as indicated from another poster. It should flatten out more once it goes on to your belt.

Hey Jeff, no need to apologize. I know why I'm on edge. We have an inspection team coming in today to inspect me for the next 10 days to test the training I'm providing my medic warriors. AND I retire from the AF on 2 Oct. Like I said, I may be grumpy. :grumpy::grumpy:

I love your knives! Since receiving the RC-5, I've taken it to every class to show them real knives. I'm trying to decide on which will be next an Izula or H.E.S.T.

I have the Rc5, with the nylon sheath ( nice, but I like kydex better), those photos were just plain showing off
