It was a good 2 for 1 deal on a Kissing Crane "Forgotten Hero" knife, so I figured it would make a good gift for my son to give to his grandfather for Christmas. He is a Vietnam vet and always carries a pocket knife, usually something small, I think it is a Old Timer stockman or something similar and I think that may be the only knife he owns or carries other than his bayonet from Vietnam. I know it's not "high dollar" but I though he might appreciate it coming from his grandson, the other one can go into my son's growing knife collection which will also significantly increase in size this Christmas :)

Very thoughtful gift, I would've loved to have been able to buy my grandfather a ww2 commemorative knife but he died when I was 7.
He drove a tank across the Eastern front in the battle of the bulge with the US ARMY 4th armored division and I'm sure he had some stories he could tell were he willing to talk about them.

I've heard some good things about the kissing crane slipjoints for the money.
They may not be as great as rough rider ( neither is steel warrior and I've found them serviceable ) but by all accounts they easily take a great edge and that's the most important thing.

Thoughtful gift for a man who served during Nam. I miss my Great Lakes Class of 1936 US NAVY CPO Grandfather.
Lord that Salt Dog could cuss paint off a car!

My dad is a vet of Vietnam, I bet he would like one of those from his granddaughter. Thanks for the idea!

I'm sure he'll love it! The older guys don't care about the latest super steels and such! Unless they are on BF. I'd encourage him to get the back engraved if it's blank!
