Got my three new BM 710s from Knifeworks today

As mongomondo stated, there was a mistake at Benchmade. And as I understand it, the 154CM blades are discontinued. That's why I bought two of those. Even if they aren't I'm still a hoard :D

Anyway, Roger at Knifeworks had both for the same price I wanted to make sure I had some 154CM 710's before they're gone.

Thanks for the clarification. Good score:thumbup:

The blade isn't too badly off centered, as long as it doesn't rub the liner you're ok. If it starts to bother you down the road, you could take it apart and make sure the washers are flat and that there isn't some debris under one of them, or between the washer and blade.

I've EDC'd a 154cm for the past two and a half years.

You've got some beautiful knives there, but they're too clean and shiny. Use it and enjoy and don't be afraid to use one of the 154s. It'll develop some character and look even nicer in time. My pocket clip is banged up and scratched and the G-10 has worn smooth around the edges... even prettier than the day I got it.

d2 is better than 154cm

I don't own a knife that I don't like and I'm not really hard on my knives so I really don't have too many instances where I have put them through the ringer. I am not avoiding that situation and I use my knives, I just don't have that many opportunities to rip them up good.

Because of that I enjoy all the steels I have right down to the 440's.

The 154CM 710's were more about availability than which steel is better to me. I agree with you that D2 has some properties that are more suited for some uses but 154Cm has its forte too.

To be real honest I'm not sure I have a favorite steel but if I had to pick it would be between S30V, 13C26, 154CM and D2 for sure.

Here is a picture of about 1/3 of my knife collection. I have multiples of some of these but they are in the OEM packaging. I'll take more pictures of the other knives soon but this is my primary carry rotation in no order although the ZT 0300 and 0302 get most of the attention. That may change for a while now that I have the Nitrous Styker and BM 710's:

I have a 710 right now and have for over a year about and it is by far my favorite large folder. I need to get a backup as a matter of fact. The only knife I've ever really considered getting a backup for. I hope they stay in the BM line forever, like the spyderco police and I can get them in a variety of different steels. Truly a genius design.

Nice collection.

The ZT 200 stands out for me.

It's a very under rated knife I think. It's action is nearly as smooth as my Skirmish and for $128 give or take. And everything about it is flawless as far and fit and finish. A super value.

absolutely agree, and if they would just make a zt0205 (ie 3.5-3.9 length version) so I could actually carry one I would buy two in an instant.

those ZTs....man o man....Reeek I envy you. I'm definitely looking forward to getting a ZT0200 of my own. It's a damn sexy no bullshit beast. That knife just welds itself to my hand. I'd marry it; yes, it's that awesome.
