Got my VG-10 blade to a new level of sharpness

The sharpest I've gotten a knife was my CF ZDP Caly 3, where I split a hair in 4. I just recently was able to accomplish this my VG-10 Endura Wave. I've reprofiled it to somewhere between 18-23 degrees inclusive and it slices through paper smoother than my caly 3. Just thought I'd mention this since I don't see too many threads talking about how sharp of an edge VG-10 can take. I was also able to split a hair in 3 with D2 on a BM 710.

Thanks for reading!

Nice work. :thumbup: I just recently got my 710D2 to about that level of sharpness. Sharp knives rock. :D

nice to hear somebody admit out loud you can sharpen D2.

most of the time i hear 'it's tooooothy, it has BIG GRAINS, it's haaaaard, waaaah'..

whippersnappers ain't got a work ethic n'er a drop of elbow grease in their whole bodies, *I* sez. don't CARE enough, wasn't raised right, kids like that never turn out good..

prolly don't know what sharp is in the first place.. ;)

Nice rant there mitchshrader :thumbup::D

I didn't find D2 or CPM D2 to be hard to get to hair whittling. The whole "it takes a terrible edge and holds it forever" is crap. It doesn't hold that extreme sharpness like Super Blue or M4, but it will definately get sharp.

Oh yeah, and congrats on getting a new level of sharpness, Kaizen1. That is very impressive.

I agree with theonew, nice rant:thumbup:. I've read similar things, and I'm finding it really seems to come down to if they can really sharpen a knife.

I once cut the fabric of space/time with my ZT0200:thumbup:
