Got a "used", but 100% mint Rock Salt in H1. My impressions:

*Lightweight
*Sharp
*Extremely confortable
*Wellmade
*Good sheath
*Good looking

Allthough I have a lot of experience with H1-steel, I haven't really used a knife like this when it comes to this steel. I will not use this knife very hard since it's no longer produced. Any owners who have an opinion on how it performs?
I know from its light weight and thin geometry that it will not be a very good chopper or batoning blade, but what do you think about it?

I think it will chop better than you think. H-1 is very tough, so apart from the swedge on the spine chewing up whatever you use for a baton, that shouldn't be a problem either. I had to grind off the last swell to make room for my little finger on the handle, but since I did that, I like mine.

I think it's a pity you won't be using it much. I would love to get one of those for my Dad who lives in Puerto Rico (where everything rusts) and H1 is really tough. I know they aren't made anymore, but they were built to be tools.
In any case, congrats on your find, it's a great knife!
