Got scewed

Interesting how the OP hasn't been back hahaha

Probably out treating a waitress badly and stiffing her on the tip. RayMill is a special snowflake. If he doesn't get what he wants he throws a temper tantrum and
makes everyone suffer. The 31 year old 3 year old that has been acting the same way since childhood. It is sad, really.

This is why we can't have nice things RayMill RayMill . You have to have learned about how one dirtbag can ruin things for everyone when you were in boot camp... right?

SMDH because I find this very ironic!

If you look up Ray's transaction profile, you'll note that I bought a used Slysz Bowie from Ray. While I think that I got a great deal through my own perseverance reaching out to Ray, specially since this model was already announced as being discontinued, Ray had messed up the pivot screw way beyond his benign description of what he had done. Still I had to chase Ray down to exchange positive feedback because I had then assessed that Ray was a good guy and building good seller's feedback was going to be good for him since he had indicated that he was going to be selling some more knives here and that he was new back then.

Here's the irony:

It was the good folks of Spyderco who I reached out to with photo evidence so to mail me two new pivot screws plus a specialized $25 tool from Amazon which finally allowed me to disengage that gummed up and stripped pivot screw without damaging the scales or the blade. This message ties in with the title of this thread "scewed" and Sal's other thread about "taking knives apart". Why would you even have to take apart a new Slysz Bowie you had bought?!!!

My sincerest apologies to the Bladeforums community, Sal and the good people at Spyderco.

Logged into today to post another knife I was going to sell and was bombarded with messages of a mysterious thread I had created apparently.

Upon reading the thread I immediately knew what had happened. My nephew, who I allowed to have my login information and a shared secondary bank account I created for my knife purchases and to help him get on his feet, created this thread of whinny complaint about a problem that never was a problem. When he had mentioned to me that he had purchased a knife from Spyderco and in his words “got screwed”, well “scewed” according to the thread title, I told him just to let it go and the funds, which are my funds by the way, would be back in the account and not to even give it a second thought. Apparently he didn’t listen and caused a huge ruckus here on the fourms and also posted some of my personal information, which I'm just dumbfounded by. I'm embarrassed as hell and was contemplating even writing to this thread. I hate to say this about him but he is a 19 year old man-child that I have given way to many handouts to because I want to see him better his life, maybe he’ll get his head out his rectum one day.

So in part it is my fault for trusting him and I apologize once again for his absurd behavior.

And @ Casinostocks I would be more than happy to reimburse you for the $25 you had to spend on a tool for the Slysz Bowie, I cleaned the knife thoroughly before I sent it to you and wasn’t aware of the issue.

No worries Justin. You don't owe me anything. I'm glad that you stopped by to clean things up in here. I'm not getting involved with this thread above and over what I have already stated.

Over the years we have had many similar explanations for bad behaviour. I call it the "My dog ate my homework" defence.

In almost all instances it turned out to be simply an attempt to cover up and excuse bad behaviour.
Now I am not saying that your explanation is anything other than the truth but when such a new member with no track record such as yourself acts like this, we all get mighty suspicious.

Your "nephew" dissed one of the best manufacturing companies in the USA, swearing at one of their employees. You should count yourself lucky that your "nephew" gets to take the rap for it.

Think about what is important. Your word/honour is everything. Don't let your "nephew" destroy and cheapen it over some imagined slight.

Sounds fishy. How the hell is the 19 year old going to "get on his feet" by using your blade forums logon and bank account?
He is using your money, military discount at Spyderco and shipping address to buy knives??? Posting pics of your bank account on the internet?
Spelling looks the same to me - scewed, winny, to (many handouts).

I'm calling B.S. and I think it's past time for you to man up and stop playing childish games. You are 31 and supposedly in the military.

I came on here to apologize for another man's actions, not asking for forgiveness. If you guys and gals want to turn it into some sort of a witch hunt, that's up to you. Why would I waste my time responding back to you guys trying to make up a story when the only threads I've ever made have to do with only 4 sales? Why would I post my own personal infomation? I felt apologizing was the right right thing to do. My nephew has my login information because he had told me he has been wanting to purchase a decent knife and I told him to shop around a bit and hit up Bladeforums because he could purchase a high end knife used at a reasonable price. And like I mentioned earlier, yes I set up a bank account for the both of us, for two reasons, so I could hide dispensable cash from the finacé for my hobby and to give him cash so he would stay out my wallet so the finacé wouldn't know that I give money to a lost child, he is family and even though I should, I can't turn my back on him. If you would like to know more information about my family then go ahead ask for whatever concerns you may have for some odd reason. You guys can assume whatever you want, just giving you the truth and if you guys have a different opinion on the matter that's fine, it's your opinion.

Like I said I came on here to apologize to the community for what he has done because I felt it was the right thing to do.

I have no dog in this discussion but I’m sure you know lying to your fiancé is not the best way to improve your karma. Or your reputation around here.
Just saying.

You know, you're right. If I wouldn't have made a greedy decision then I wouldn't be in this predicament in the fisrt place.

No need to apologize. You spoke your mind and I appreciate the feedback back honestly.

Hi RayMill,

Your order has been cancelled. No funds were taken from your account. The piece you want is not in stock. The receptionist that you chewed our really had nothing to do with your order. Cussing as her and hanging up on her was rude. Your attitude sucks. I don't think that we screw our customers as your post suggests. The Op-focus program is a favor that we do for our courteous Military, etc. personnel. You have caused us more trouble than the order is worth. There are already 6 people involved in your on-line order which the computer listed no stock so it wasn't shipped.

sal
Thanks for having your employees backs.

Change your password and make your nephew find his own way in life. @19 he is responsible to pull his own weight.
If what you say is true, he will keep on scewing you!

ETA: he clearly has no respect for you or anyone else. Just sayin'.

I think you're being a unfair by posting this before they have a chance to correct it. If this was 2 weeks with no refund I could see you posting. Unless they have refused to help via email or phone, you need to give them a few days. It's not like Spyderco doesn't have a good reputation for taking care of customers.

My much larger concern is that the Spydie Chef is out of stock. Both it and the Slyze Bowie are on my wish list, and I waited too long and missed the Slysz. I'm hoping this is really just an inventory issue or maybe a transition to a new one. If I miss this one also I'm going to be having an unpleasant conversation with myself.

I have those unpleasant conversations every day with myself!!
:D

OP......mature way to handle things. With an attitude like that you’ll make many friends. You are in the very small group that has pissed Sal off. Doesn’t happen very often. Great job, tool.
Ugh

Stepping back in again at my on expense :P

As previously stated I had bought a knife from RayMill. I almost did not because although new, he did not have any posts on BFC other than WTS posts but I found his communication to be erudite although succinct instead of that travesty of the OP. His subsequent explanatory and apologetic posts plus his offer to compensate me for the tool which I had to purchase to loosen up and to disengage that badly stripped and gummed up pivot screw, sound more like the guy who was my seller than the guy who started this debacle "scewed" thread. I am prepared to give the real Ray benefit of the doubt and I really hope that it was not his Nephew's Slysz Bowie which I ended up buying from RayMill :D
