Dylan, I held my first Sebbie (the small Sebbie w/unique graphic that I went on to buy) at a gun/knife show. If a show comes near your area you can probably find one there as well.
 
I actually went on a little internet mission yesterday to look for a good custom for you, but of course, I got sidetracked and ended up looking at stuff for me. I'll try again today.

For the price range you specify, get a Dick Atkinson folder. I picked up a large wharncliffe blade folder in ATS34 with black micarta scales at Blade last summer for around $135 if I remember correctly. I beat the holy crap out of it all summer long when doing weed-eating, chain sawing, and tractor work clearing out some land for development. It cut super thick weed-eater line, small limbs, rope, etc.. and did it well. Then take the extra money and buy a Spyderco Sharpmaker and keep it nice and sharp.

If you wanted to actually make an investment with that money, you could always put in an order for a Randall Made Knife. Of course you wouldn't be getting it for a few years.
 
Have you looked at Micro-Tech, Pro-Tech, Dalton, and MOD. There has to be something there you like.

Congratulations on your graduation, and in your situation (and since you are so damn picky...lol)..., I think I'd take that $150-$200 and set it aside, then order a Custom folder after searching around a little.

With the waiting time for it to be made.., you can probably work in the Summer.., not cut into the rest of your Grad-Bounty.., and have the full price by the time it's done.

Lots's of great knives out there between $340-$500.., so that sounds like a plan to me... :)
 
The thing is I'm not willing to spend that much on a knife yet. I'm 19, I lose things :D. I've lost several knives. If I lost a $400-$500 knife, I'd cry like a little girl :D. That's one of the main reasons I am trying to limit myself to $200 or a little more (I'm also saving for a new pc).

I have to agree with the SEBENZA, I got my first one about 4 months ago and I fell in love with it, carry it everyday. It is the nicest knife I have ever owned and it is built like a tank. Mine has an S30V steel blade and it is hair popping sharp right out of the box. Thats just my $0.02

Thanks, and congratulations to you Marcelo. Yes, I have kept an eye on that one, it looks mighty tasty. But I'm sure it's made for you lucky right-handed bastids :D. I really want a left-handed knife. I'll probaly get the Dominator anyways :rolleyes: :D
