Got some new stuff done!

At this point in my life, four months is the blink of an eye, particularly when the payoff will be so rewarding.

Could you make a belt version for the RAT DPx H•E•S•T? In a black and natural saddle leather would be spectacular.Western or Tribal tooling would be even cooler. Perhaps something that has a pocket for a sharpening stone?

Uh huh. :) The tribal thing sounds like an interesting project! :D Gimme or the wife a holler.

Very cool , 4 month wait? wow
Yea, you ought to have been around before the economy flopped, I had a year and a half wait line. Most of those have either lost jobs or were afraid of losing them and had to cancel. Scary stuff indeed. Most often I have five, to as many as ten custom projects going at one time. When it comes to semi production stuff I've had 100 sheaths going at once. Loved and hated it all at the same time. :o We're a Mom and Pop shop, full time, this is how I feed and shelter my family, so its good to have a long line. Job security in a very uncertain time.

I was going to make a comment about how they looked very nice even though I never cared for the snap around the handle. Then I saw this.

Thank you! :) But the nice thing about the around the handle strap I do is it pulls right out of the way. NO chance of cutting it. And the over the guard straps I do will swivel out of the way as well.

Wow, that looks incredible! :thumbup::D

Edit: Oops, I don't think I did the quote thing quite right...

I just got these photos of the sheaths (RC-3, RC-4) that are on the way from Dwayne and Stacy at armoralleather.com. Schweet! I can hardly wait for them to arrive but I'm already extremely happy with the quality and craftsmanship. Well done, Dwayne, and thanks to Stacy for the excellent customer service... great folks that I will recommend whenever the opportunity arises.

Thank you Grump for posting those up! :) I got lucky today with the overcast skies so the pics turned out really nice.

I really like how these turned out, the particular leather I used for the fronts is rather distressed to begin with (scars and bites, the poor animal had a hard life) and thin so I laminated it with another layer of thin leather. These are unique, I haven't made anything like this before. I hope you like them!

I've got another RC4 sheath in progress!

I only have one Leatherman sheath, but it is top notch!! I'm thinking one for the RAT Pack knife is sounding pretty good right now.

My pleasure, and yes they did turn out very nice. :)

There's no doubt that I'll like 'em. :)

Onward, brother!

Beautiful work as always. Leather may not be perfect for all conditions, but man it sure looks nice.

Yup, why is it so hard to find a quality horizontal carry sheath?

If your talking production sheaths then yea, I've noticed that too. Not too many out there with a decent horizontal carry loop.

Now among the custom maker crowd (leather, kydex, and cordura) the sky is the limit, no reason why they can't make a good one.

Have you done any sheath designs for the Izula? I'm very interested in a horizontal carry in small-of back and possibly a right handed cross draw...any thoughts?

Nice work on sheaths above!

Hi Froggy, I sent you an e-mail, but wanted to say here that yes I am working on some Izula designs right now, in some various carry methods. I should have something to show in a week or two. :)

My sheaths arrived today and they are nothing less than I expected. As has been previously mentioned, the craftsmanship is beyond what photos can convey. Fit and finish is beautiful and I'm sure that these sheaths will outlast me and go on to make my heir(s) very happy. My initial inspection tells me that Dwayne doesn't create sheaths solely for financial gain - it goes much deeper than that. To state it quite simply, they ooze pride! :)

Dwayne, the forum software won't allow me to insert enough smilies to adequately express my pleasure so I'll just offer a heartfelt thank you for a job well done.

After a funky start to the weekend I can say your words put a bit old silly grin on my face!

Thank you very much my friend, I am humbled.

This is a job that feeds my family, but if I could do it for free, I would.
