made some new vids..4 in total here are the first 2 one is a blooper as the you can see the dedfall spring behind my head as I'm introducing the trap...in the second one my buddies daughter makes an appearance.. I'll be positng more later.
this has been a fun project for me, but as I watch the clips there are some I see they are poor quality... I'm thinking about delteing them and reshooting them in a woodland setting I thought I could have something (a trap for example) pre fabricated and set I could spring it at the beginning of a video and than go step by step through making and setting a new one..these would make the videos longer but might make them more informative overall, I just wanted to get some thoughts on this... thanks

I like the way you have an easy-going way about explaining the way you set it up, John. You show the trap, snare the koala, and then show the set up. Very cool. And Maggie is a star!

i don't think that long videos is an issue at all, personally. as long as it isn't just long because of extra junk instead of useful info.

from what i've seen of your videos, i don't think you should worry too much about filling with any stuff that just wastes time.

the format you just suggested sounds good to me. if i understand it correctly, you are planning on springing the trap, then going through step by step making one?

i think that showing how each piece is made and goes together would work well for viewers that don't already have an idea of what the trap is...

cool thanks guys... I've had some mixed reviews so far... I'm definitely no Ray mears.. but I thought it might be more informative...also a woodland setting might be nice.. Thanks for posting and watching

+1 ... nice work on the videos John

Next time you can make sure her glove is on before you start shooting, jeesh; poor kid....;)

Seriously though. The video was good; you do a great job explaining how it works. I think if you incorporate a good still photo of the trigger mechanism it will help out greatly though:thumbup:

cool idea thanks.... incidentally she took her glove off while we where shooting...Thanks again for yesterday bro... Good times

great stuff riley... those are cool... i really dig your videos...:D you are very calm and thorough when talking/explaining things...:)

thanks man...the only time I'm never calm is when my wife finds my credit card bill from knife center... LOL

Great video - I'll be honest, I haven't made a snare or trap in years and haven't even tried in years. Thanks for the information.

I was watching it and my wife was sitting on the couch next to me and was looking at me like I was crazy. She got a kick out of your accent and the fact that I was watching a video of how to make a snare. The stunt Koala mader us laugh to!

Just a suggestion, if you have video editing software, you could just go through making the trap and setting it up and tripping it. Then you could edit the tripping part to the first of the video. It may save you time in filming but, if you're like me it would take more time to edit the video than to make two or three of the traps.

Anyway, I like the new format idea but I also like the video format you've been using. Your videos are great and you have an excellent presentation style that makes it very easy for me to understand and retain the information.

David

editing software is definitely on the got to get list... Thanks for the kind words everyone.. It means allot.
